Bestir my compassion, and be concerned enough to help by word and deed, those who cry out for what we take for granted. Amen. The Introit How Can I Keep from Singing Robert Lowry Victoria and Alexandra Sexton The Call to Worship (Unison) Psalm 103 (Selected) Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all His benefits. Who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the Pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good as long as you live so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord works vindication and justice for all who are oppressed. Bless the Lord, O you His angels, you mighty ones who do His bidding, obedient to His spoken word. Bless the Lord, all His hosts, His ministers that do His will. Bless the Lord, all His works, in all places of His dominion. Bless the Lord, O my soul. *If able, please stand We Give Praise and Adoration to God *The Hymn of Praise Come, Ye Thankful People, Come #551 *The Re-Affirmation of Faith The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen. *The Gloria Patri #579 Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen, Amen. Martin Now thank we all our God with hearts and hands and voices. Who wondrous things hath done, in whom our Son rejoices! Who gave this church its birth and blessed it through the years with countless gifts of love and grace for every tear. For the beauty of the earth, for the glory of the skies, for the love which from our birth over and around us lies: Christ to Thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise. For the wonder of each hour, of the day and of the night, hill and vale and tree and flower, sun and moon and stars of light: Christ to Thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, thank You God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, thank You God. For the joy of human love, brother, sister, parent, child, friends on earth and friends above, for all gentle thoughts and mild: Christ to Thee we raise this our hymn of grateful praise! We give praise! For the church that evermore lifteth holy hands above, offering up on every shore Her pure sacrifice of love: Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, thank You God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, thank You God. Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia. We thank You God. Thank You God We Seek and Share God’s Forgiveness The Call to Confession The Prayer of Confession (Unison) O Giver of all good and perfect gifts, we come before You overwhelmed by Your generous providence in our lives: for jobs and homes, for friends and family, for fellowship and laughter, for Word and song. We have often received these blessings as if we were deserving of them. Forgive such ungraciousness, Lord. We have also sometimes failed to model Your generosity. Forgive such miserliness, Lord. Grant us truly thankful hearts for our blessings; and remind us that we are blessed for only one reason: that we may be a blessing to others. We pray in Your Son’s Name. Amen. (A time for silent prayer and confession.) The Assurance of Pardon The Response (singing) We Gather Together Beside us to guide us, our God with us joining, Ordaining, maintaining His kingdom divine; So from the beginning the fight we were winning; Thou, Lord, wast at our side; all glory be Thine! #559 We all do extol Thee,Thou leader triumphant, And pray that Thou still our defender wilt be. Let Thy congregation escape tribulation; Thy name be ever praised! O Lord, make us free! We Give God His Tithes and our Offerings The Offertory Prayer (Unison) We give thanks, Lord Jesus, that through the tithes and offerings we give back to You through Your church, we have an opportunity to be partners with You in healing the sick, feeding the poor, in clothing the naked, in liberating the captives, in teaching the illiterate, and in proclaiming the message of peace in sharing the Gospel and in proclaiming a message of hope, faith and love in a world often filled with despair, doubt and hate. Bless and use the gifts that we give, we pray, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
