NAVJEEVAN NEWS-NOVEMBER 2014 Women Empowerment Department Achivements Women Empowerment Department has successfully completed two batches of Leadership development training programme for Minority Women in Padthari village and Parsananagar . 50 women had participated in the training programme and they were given the certificates. our activities NT has conducted meeting in Lodhika village. To increase the visibility and to enhance the quality stake holder To ensure employment to 50 economically and socially backward women in Vajadi we have conducted tailoring classes. Now the third batch training is going on in full swing. Department of Health Navjeevan Trust, Rajkot is a pioneer organization in the field of HIV/AIDS. We have implemented three 'Targeted Intervention Projects' in partnership with Gujarat State AIDS Control Society, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of Gujarat. Under this project we are covering 12300 High Risk People of MSM, FSW & Destination Migrant Group. Organized 16 medical camp in Industrial areas of Shaper veraval and 349 people benefited from the medical camp. Under TB Awarness Programme we have sensitized 169 people and 7 positive cases were found during the month. Two Advocacy Meeting has been conducted During the last month we have given medical service 1319 rural people from 6 Rural Dispensaries of different villages of Rajkot. Formed new Senior Citizen Club men at Lodhika and also facilitated monthly meeting of Women Senior citizen.. Award winner!!!! Mrs.Kanchanben Sanjaybhai Dalayina (Deaf and Dumb) from Wankner selected for Smt.Nandini P Divetia Rural Rehabilitation Award for Disabled 2014.This award will be given by Rural Development &Management Institute, Ahmedabad. CONGRATULATIONS...........!!! Department of Livelihood Navjeevan Trust has conducted awareness programmes for 6391 diary famers under Maahi project for 4 districts of Gujarat (Surendranagar,Junagadh,Jamnagar and Amerli). DDU-GKY (Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana) Through the DDU-GKY project we provide job opportunities the BPL youth. We provided them uniform and study materials. . Industrial Visit for the DDU-GKY students Students were taken to the different industries/ hospitals for the practical experiences Department of Education NT celebrated the Children day on 30th November in Bishop's house Campus. The main motive behind this celebration was to promote child welfare and communal exchange between the children all over the Saurashtra and Kutch and also it was an occasion for them to remember the grate leader Pt.Jawaharlal Nehru who was extremely fond of children and considered them to be the nation's future. From 13 village centers 940 Children took part in the celebration. It gave them immense fun, fervor and enthusiasm. We gave them opportunity to participate in various competitions such as singing, dancing, painting, drama, Essay writing, Fancy dress. All the competitions were conducted in different stages and the winners were given trophies and prizes. We encouraged them to enjoy the freedom of childhood and to develop their talents and potentialities. So the Navjeevan Trust greatly remember all those people who contributed their support for this noble purpose. Department of Education has conducted Olympiad Meeting on 23 November for the students to give them a proper guidance for the exam purposes. Badthe Kadam(Mithapur) The Prerna Bhavan is mainly focusing on mobilization and planning and they have covered 30 villages. As the part of the Aajvika skill programme they have conducted the Navratri celebration and stole in Garib Kalayan Mela. On 7th we have inaugurated the Aajeevika skill Training programme.At present 52 students are regularly attending Trades like computer, Hotel management, welding and fabrication. Students get motivational classes from different Lectures . Prerna Bhavan always have the linkages with Mahi Dairy and Anganvadi and they have conducted the Training of Trainers.(TOT). Students also participated in the Khel Mahakumbh Mele.
