ALMA MATER STUDIORUM UNIVERSITà di bologna school of engineering and architecture Second cycle degree/Master CIVIL ENGINEERING CE International Programme CIVIL ENGINEERING (CE) The main goal is in-depth scientific and technical knowledge in the field of civil engineering, within a multi-cultural educational environment. The programme, targeting students with firm technical bases, as well as decision-making and leadership potential, prepares graduate students to practise their profession at an advanced level, with a unique exposure to an international environment to better understand the global issues of civil engineering. REQUIREMENTS AND/OR ADMISSION TESTS A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Faculty Board will evaluate applicants’ curricula. Double degrees with Columbia University, University of Miami and other student exchange programmes with foreign Universities have been established. The students will acquire skills in civil engineering project management, design and analysis of structures and infrastructures with comprehensive know-how about civil engineering materials, technologies and processes. PROGRAMME CONTENT Civil Engineering is a four-semester programme with core and curriculum courses to consolidate fundamentals and improve modelling capabilities in the civil engineering areas. Students may then specialize in the following fields: Structural Engineering, Territorial Infrastructures. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES Besides traditional activities, the skills of civil engineers are more and more requested in the fields of territory planning, environment preservation, safety and protection against natural and industrial risks.
