Ski and Snowboard Races Jan. 24, 2015 Keystone Resort, CO Race Registration Deadline for all SnoFest Racers –Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015. No onsite registration! Please complete and sign the appropriate forms and fax to 719-‐556-‐7941/DSN 834-‐7941 or scanned copies of the signed forms may be mailed to peterson.outdoor.rec@us.af.mil or visit your Peterson Recreation Facility in bldg 640 on Peterson AFB. Email confirmation will be sent within 10 days of registration receipt. Participants must provide their own lift ticket for each day. Practice Day Friday, Jan. 23, 2015: Two Free Practice Runs Per Individual: Voucher Required. Each racer may participate in practice day on Friday, Jan. 23 only. There will be no practice on race day. The racecourse will be open to the public; however, Snofest racers may take two free practice runs any time during normal operating hours of the course with the presentation of a Snofest voucher. Vouchers can be picked up at the race check-‐in table located in the Mountain House. Races – Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015: All participants must wear a helmet. Commander’s Cup Traveling Cup Winning installation will be determined by two fastest skier times and two fastest snowboarder times of individuals assigned to that base. Times will be handicapped and added together. Trophy will be presented in the Keystone Conference Center during Saturday night’s dinner. Although this is not a team event, the times of team racers will be extracted to count toward the Commander’s Cup. The times of individual racers with base affiliation but no team affiliation will also count toward the Cup. Team Ski/ Team Snowboard Competition Six Teams Per Installation Total: First-‐come, first-‐served. Installations may have both Ski and Snowboard teams. Each team, either Ski or Snowboard, will be comprised of no more than four, no less than three skiers/riders from a squadron, unit, or organization. Teams may register two alternate team members. Members from small squadrons may race with other squadrons. Large squadrons may have more than one team. Each team member must be active duty or a civilian employee assigned to the squadron represented by the team. Team members may participate in both Ski Team and Snowboard Team categories. Team participants must be set by Wednesday, Jan 21, 2014. If a team member is unable to participate, the race registration table must be notified by 0830 on day of race to swap in an alternate. If a base has less than six teams registered, the unused slot can be transferred to a base that would like to register more than six teams; the extra teams will be on stand-‐by until a slot becomes available. Team Scoring Top three team times. Each time is the faster of two times as per individual scoring. Less than three registered team times disqualifies the team. Each person’s times scored in the team competition will also count toward individual honors and the Commander’s Cup. Individual Ski/Snowboard Competition Eligibility: All eligible Services customers, who include active duty, civilian employees, National Guard and Reservists, retirees, and family members of these groups, may compete for individual honors. Participants may compete in both ski and snowboard races. Racers participating in the team competition will automatically have their times rolled into the individual/ open category. Teen Eligibility: All eligible Services customers between the ages of 13 – 16 years old may compete for the teen awards. Participants may compete in both ski and snowboard races but must race during the scheduled times. Participants must provide their own lift ticket. Youth Eligibility: All eligible Services customers between 3 and 12 who can complete the course without adult assistance or being chaperoned may compete for the youth awards. There are two youth categories: 3d 8 yrs and 9d 12 yrs. Participants may compete in both ski and snowboard races but must race during the scheduled times. Participants must provide their own lift ticket. Open Eligibility: All eligible Services customers 17 years old or older may compete for the Open awards. Participants may compete in both ski and snowboard races but must race during the scheduled times. Participants must provide their own lift ticket Race Times and Location: Skiers Only: 10 – 11:30 a.m. Slope: Flying Dutchman Scoring Snowboarders Only: noon – 1 p.m. Ski lift: River Run gondola The faster of the two handicapped runs of each individual skier will be used to determine the fastest three racers for each competition. Racers will also score in the EPIC MIX RACING system and possibly win an EPIC MIX RACING medal. All announced results are final. Awards Ceremony First, second and third place trophies will be presentd at the Keystone Nordic Center at 4:30 p.m. for competition both male and female. Day Before Race Day Check In: Friday, Jan. 23 at Mountain House Silverthorne Room from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. For your convenience, each individual and team member has the opportunity to check in and sign for their race bib the day before. Bibs may be returned to Racing Staff at the Keystone Nordic Center prior to the Awards Ceremony. Vouchers for two free practice runs on the course valid only for Friday, Jan 24, 2014, can be picked up at this time.
