Mindful Self-Compassion A 9 session course based on the ground-breaking work of Kristin Neff andChristopher Germer Would you like to finally make some changes that will last? Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) is a research based program that is designed as an adventure and an experiment in self-discovery and self-transformation. You will learn over 25 simple ways that will enable you to call on your own inner resources to soothe yourself in times of stress or pain. In this short course you will learn how to: • Decrease anxiety • Decrease depression • Decrease stress • Decrease self-criticism • Increase relationship satisfaction • Increase healthy habits like diet and exercise • Increase emotional wellbeing TWO COURSES OFFERED: For Mental Health Professionals - earn up to 28 CEs! Classes held 9 a.m. to noon on consecutive Saturdays, January 10th through March 7th, 2015. This program has been approved by the National Board for Certified Counselors. For everyone else looking to make a powerful change in their life, classes will be held 6-9 p.m. on consecutive Tuesdays, January 6th through January 24th - as well as a 4 hour retreat on Saturday, February 7th. Baldwin, MA LMHC is a psychotherapist who began practicing meditation and mindfulness over ten years ago. Sara has experience teaching yoga, leading meditations and facilitating group work, and has a soothing and calm presence. She was trained to teach Mindful Self-Compassion by Christopher Germer and Kristin Neff directly and she is excited to be offering this transformational course in Seattle. Kasey Curtis, MA, LMFT is a licensed therapist who has been positively impacted by Mindful Self Compassion, finding it to be the perfect complement to her own meditation and yoga practices. Kasey has been incorporating mindfulness with therapy clients for the past few years, and in the past year has been facilitating iRest/Yoga Nidra classes and leading meditations. She is excited to complete the Mindful Self Compassion teacher training in June of 2015. Jacqueline E. Smith, MA LMHC is a psychotherapist in the Seattle and Tacoma areas who incorporates meditation and mindfulness practices into her work with clients as well as her own life. Jacqueline has experience in Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, sitting meditation, yoga, and contemplative dance. Jacqueline has facilitated groups for over 10 years, and is excited to be assisting in the facilitation of the Mindful Self-Compassion course in Seattle.
