2,000 kWe Combined Heat and Power System - Dresser-Rand
CHP 2000
2,000 kWe Combined Heat and Power System
Dresser-Rand provides a
complete range of fully
packaged and tested combined
heat and power (CHP) systems
to commercial, industrial and
municipal energy users world
wide. CHP (or cogeneration)
systems reduce on-site energy
costs and carbon dioxide
emissions through the highly
efficient delivery of power and
heating.
KG2-3G high-efficiency gas turbine
Cogeneration or combined heat and power (CHP) systems facilitate the production
of electricity and useful heat at very high efficiency. By locating a power generation
system at the heart of your facility or process it is possble to capture the heat which
is usually a wasted by-product of electricity generation.
The KG2 cogeneration system combines the reliable Dresser-Rand® KG2-3G gas
turbine with a pre-engineered steam heat recovery package. The system provides
a continuous base load supply of both electricity and steam while lowering energy
costs and CO2 emissions. With a range of steam pressure configurations available,
this system can be matched to almost any process need.

CHP Sizing and Selection
Packaged CHP systems deliver the maximum possible energy cost savings when
deployed in applications where the electrical and thermal outputs of the system
can be consumed at all times by the host facility. The standard CHP 2000 system
delivers high-quality steam (approximately 5.8 t/h at 10 bar (12.7 lb/h at 145 PSI)
when operated at base load). Alternatively, the exhaust energy can be used for
chilling and delivers approximately 5.5 MW of chilling power. A balance of both
is also possible, and in addition can be hot water extracted from the lubricant oil
cooler. A steam condenser is required to boost the total efficiency to somewhere
in the mid-90% range. Dresser-Rand has experienced engineers available to
discuss your precise CHP requirements and to help ensure that you select the most
appropriate system for your building or process. Dresser-Rand CHP systems can
be designed to meet application-specific requirements.

Energy consumers demand high efficiency and reliability in order to minimize
operating costs and maximize uptime. Our CHP systems are supplied as as
comprehensive factory tested package that can be easily integrated into existing
site operations. Items such as synchronizing switchgear, heat recovery equipment,
emissions treatment, attenuation, and lube oil systems are included "within the
box." This dramatically reduces the risk of cost overruns and performance issues
associated with traditional "site built" systems.
