Andrew Giaimo scored a gamehigh 18 points and Devin Valles
added 15 points as St. Mary’s
Healthcare charged to a 48-37
win over Wishful Thinking in
Amsterdam
Recreation
Basketball League boys 7-8th
grade division play at the Bacon
Rec Center.
St. Mary’s also got seven points
from Christian Mickus, six from
Michael Spiezio and two from
Logan Steen.
Chris Parker led Wishful
Thinking with 16 points. The
team also got five points apiece
from Nic Hernandez and Louis
DiManno, four points from
Nicholas Antonelli and Vernon
Handy, two from Colin Agosta
and Jordan Borrelli and a point
from Nate Lucente.

St. Mary’s Healthcare 61
Tyler Safran led three players in
double figures with a team-high
19 points as Post-Time surged
past St. Mary’s Healthcare.
In the win, Sebastian Greco
added 14 points, Damian Colon
scored 12, Nic Carbone and
Antone Glionna each scored six,
Zamar Joseph scored five and
both Luis Dueno and Anthony
Vicinanzo had four points for
Post-Time Photo.
Peyton Ausfeld scored 13 points
to lead St. Mary’s. Christian
Mickus added 12 points to go
along with nine points from
Logan Steen, eight from Devin
Valles, six each from Spencer
Flint and Randy Spraker, three
from Tremaign Lovelace and two
each from Andrew Giaimo and
Michael Spiezio.

Mohawk Valley Orthopedics 43,
CWA 1118 Red Storm 32
Josiah Newborn and Trevon
Joyner combined for 33 points to
lead
Mohawk
Valley
Orthopedics’ winning effort.
Newborn scored a game-high
17 points and Joyner added 16
points. Garrett McHeard added
six points for MVO, which also
got two points each from John
Bottomley and Christian Bottisti
along with solid defensive play
from Eddy Santiago and Miguel
Sanchez.
Kyle Bottisti’s 10 points led the
way for the Red Storm, Lorenzo
Bottisti and Matthew Hughes
added eight points apiece, Zach
Apholz scored six points and
Lyshawn Mnally and Logan
Palmer were solid on defense.
Amsterdam Mohawks 48,
Cappies 38
Marcus Alteri erupted for 30
points to fuel the Mohawks to
victory.
In addition to Alteri’s big game,
the Mohawks got eight points
from James Shatas, four points
from Evan Ianuzzi and two points
apiece from Andrew Spagnola,
Nathaniel Zwack and Jacob
Gomez.
Anthony DeRosa scored 18
points and C.J. Durinick chipped
in 10 points to lead Cappies, while
Ryan Welch added six points and
Jesus Rivera scored four.
Grades 3-4
Post-Time/Pizarro 32,
DiBlasi’s Insurance 23
Carson Shaffer scored 14 points
and Kai Brennan posted a seasonhigh 14 points to lead Post-Time
Pizarro to victory.
Blake Post added two points in
the win, with Blaze Post and
Jordan Schmidtmann leading the
team’s rebounding effort and the
trio of Anthony Pacillo, Lorenzo
Pizarro and Franco Pizarro leading the defense.

Karolina Pizarro and Natalie
McNeil each chipped in two
points for Post-Time/Pizarro,
which also got three assists from
Brooke Post and strong defense
from Sophia Pizarro.
Rosie Sculco led the way for the
Mohawks with eight points.
Carolyn Sculco added three
points, Emma Miller and Emily
Sis each scored two points and
Zoe Brate chipped in a point.
