CHOOSE BASE SYSTEM + ADD FEATURES We capture the value in advanced materials + DEFINE FORM = BUILD WITH CONFIDENCE When you contact Advantic to discuss feasibility, your project will be reviewed by our engineers to ensure that no key details have been overlooked. We’ll discuss your structural system, provide thoughts on integration and detailing, and give you an honest opinion on the opportunities and limitations of an advanced polymer composite solution. And if we think Advantic is a good fit, we’ll tell you that, too. BASE + FEATURES + FORM = BUILD STRUCTURAL BASE MATERIAL SYSTEMS Advantic provides a suite of three base material systems that alone are fully functional and provide impressive mechanical performance. These cast polymer materials are comprised of a filled thermoset resin system with proprietary performance-enhancing additives tailored to the construction industry. Advantic’s three base material systems are: Advantic+35, Advantic+40, and Advantic+55. These systems are delineated by weight and provide performance at densities of 35, 40, and 55 pounds per cubic foot (pcf), respectively. Even for the heaviest of systems (Advantic+55), this is a massive weight savings over conventional concrete at 150 pcf. Key mechanical properties are given in Table 1 for each of the systems. BASE + FEATURES + FORM = BUILD HIGH PERFORMANCE FEATURES Advantic+fst™ For those applications which require compliance with governing fire codes, Advantic+fst has been tailored to achieve a Class A fire rating when tested per ASTM E84 with flame spread index less than 25 and smoke developed index of less than 450. Mechanical properties of Advantic+fst are comparable; however, density values are moderately higher due to the inclusion of flame retardant additives. Advantic+ins™ While numerous material solutions exist to impede the transfer of heat from one surface to another, few are concurrently capable of independently supporting high structural loads. Advantic+ins provides a thermal conductivity of 0.089 W/(m-K), which equates to an R-value of 1.62 per inch. This is more highly insulative than nearly all structural building materials. A comparison of common building materials is provided on the adjacent chart. Advantic+ins is often considered for use as a structural thermal break. Comparative Thermal Conductivity 1.5 Conductivity (W/m.k at 25ºC) 1.2 0.9 0.6 0.3 0 Exanded Fiberglass Polystyrene Advantic Panel Hardwood Autoclave Aerated Concrete Material Glass Brick Concrete Advantic+uv™ For exterior applications where exposure to ultraviolet radiation is anticipated, Advantic+uv includes coating or additives to mitigate the degradation often experienced by exposure to natural elements. Flexural Performance Improvements Advantic+frp™ Does your application have critical deflection requirements or long spans? Do you require additional ductility in the failure mode? Do you have significant in-plane shear loads? Advantic+frp may be the right solution. Load Base Advantic+35+frp Two sides reinforced Fiber reinforced polymer, or FRP, systems are comprised of carbon or glass fibers embedded in a polymer resin, and aligned to provide efficient stiffness and strength tailored to the design loads. When coupled with the shear and bending performance of the Advantic structural polymers, a powerful system is born. Base Advantic+35+frp One side reinforced Advantic+frp is a laminated panel system that is lightweight, non-corrosive, non-conductive, and highly energy absorptive. Reinforcing one face of an Advantic structural polymer plate provides a significant improvement in stiffness and strength with substantial post-yield energy absorption capacity. Reinforcing both faces provides nearly an order of magnitude improvement in strength and stiffness. Base Advantic+35 Displacement Advantic+ht™ For applications where thermal control is valuable, Advantic has demonstrated and delivered products that provide radiant resistive heating capability across a surface of varied geometry. Advantic+ht panels provide resistive heating elements embedded at a shallow depth within the section, providing protection to the critical components. Advantic+ht features are often coupled with Advantic+frp panels for use as flooring or walls in the transportation and temporary structures industries. Advantic+ab™ and Advantic+br™ Anti-ballistic and blast resistant design is an area of significant interest to designers of critical infrastructure and capital equipment in the modern era. Due to their high energy absorptive capacity Advantic materials have a track record of performance as blast mitigants for both vehicles and structures. Additionally, these materials couple well with built-up polymer composite and metal alloys for ballistic penetration resistance. Anti-ballistic Advantic+ab and blast resistant Advantic+br systems are continuously in development for a variety of customer-specific applications. WiFi Signal Loss Advantic+rf ™ Wireless communication saturates our environment, and the rate of growth of bandwidth-dependent technologies is staggering. Unfortunately, conventional construction materials tend to impede radio frequency communication across the frequency spectrum. Advantic+rf is tailored to provide nearly imperceptible signal loss – less than a single pane of glass. 15 2.4 GHz Signal Attenuation 12 9 6 3 0 1″ Advantic Single Panel Pane Glass Window Interior Drywall Partition Glass Wall with Metal Frame 1.75″ Wooden Door Material Brick Wall Cubicle Concrete Wall Conversely, your project may demand signal filtering or blockage. Advantic can tailor a custom product to filter all but a critical frequency, or block part or all frequencies as required. BASE + FEATURES + FORM = BUILD FORM = BUILD ADAPTABLE CUSTOM FORM Just as conventional precast concrete can assume any desired geometry to meet project requirements, Advantic can deliver products in nearly any form and material combination. Some clients desire to receive cast polymer materials in large planar form, similar to sheathing, varying from less than one half-inch to several feet in thickness. Other clients desire a near-finished form, including tolerance machined geometry, high performance coatings, and integrated mounting connectors. Still others seek integrated systems of materials, including cast polymers, fiber-reinforced laminates, and conventional steel sheeting, and which requires the design of primary load-bearing adhesive bond lines and mechanical connections. Advantic excels in the selection, design, validation, and manufacture of single- and multi-material systems, and their subsequent integrated performance within built infrastructure. The choices are limitless, and Advantic works with our customers on each project to develop a custom product form. BASE + FEATURES + BUILD WITH CONFIDENCE Product delivery is more than just material procurement. At Advantic, we recognize that advanced polymer composites are new to many in the building and construction industries.
