Time for Kindergarten?
If your child will be five years old on or
before August 31st, 2015 he/she is
eligible for public kindergarten.
Please contact the office at 256-2769
as soon as possible to register for our
open house and make an appointment
for DIAL screening.
Effective July 1st, the North Carolina immunization law will
change for the 2015-2016 school year. Previously, students entering the 6th grade were required to have a tetanus booster (Tdap).
With the new law, the Tdap will not be required until your student
is ready to enter the 7th grade (one year later). Additionally, the revision now includes that rising 7th graders also receive the Meningococcal vaccine. (A second dose of the Meningococcal vaccine
will be given prior to the 12th grade year.) If you have any questions regarding this new immunization law, please call Nurse Wilson at 256-2769.

Tennis Shoes
Tennis shoes are required in PE for safety reasons.
Students have PE every other day on the rotation
schedule. Please help your child learn the schedule so
he knows when to come to PE in tennis shoes. If your
child wears flip flops, sandals or Crocs he will not be
able to participate. Your child also needs to know how
to tie his tennis shoes. With limited time in PE, Mrs.
Markland does not have time to tie all shoes.
Thank You!

On your mark…
get set… go!
Would you like to be a part of the Clyde Campbell Cougar Girls Running Club? You do not need to be a
runner to get involved with this wonderful program!
The club offers a safe, nurturing environment where
girls in grades 3-6 walk or run at their own pace,
learn the importance of making healthy decisions,
and build friendships. Beginning in March, we will meet every Monday and Wednesday after school for an hour. If you are interested
in coaching or assisting, or if you have any questions, please call
Tammy Minami (828-320-5110).
Do you want to help a great cause, have
some fun, and help our school earn money?
Consider participating in the NC Troopers
Footchase 5K! The race will be held on Saturday, March 28 in Conover, and will benefit the Abby Grace Foundation. The price
is only $10 for runners under age 18. The
school with the most participants (students,
teachers, family members, or friends) wins 10% of the net
proceeds of the race! You can learn more about the race and
the Abby Grace Foundation on Facebook. To sign up for the
race, go to https://runsignup.com/Race/NC/Conover/
NCTroopersFootChase5k. Make sure you indicate that you
are running for Clyde Campbell during the registration process. If you have questions, please call 828-466-5528.
Attention Parents
and Teachers!
If you have any candid photos
that would make a nice addition
to our yearbook, please email
them to cceptoyearbook@gmail.com. We would especially like to have field trip pictures. If you have any questions,
please call Tammy Minami (828320-5110). Thank you!
Give the Gift of Life!
Mark your calendars now for the
Youth Advisory
Council sponsored
Community Blood
Bank Blood Drive
on February 17th,
from 3-6pm, in the
school gym! Our goal is to collect
30 pints of blood. Look for more
information soon...
Stand Up and Sign Up for Watch D.O.G.S.
Calling all dads, uncles, grandfathers, and father-figures! This ‘Dads Of Great Students’
organization is designed to schedule fathers and father-figures to be at Clyde Campbell
during the school day to enhance security and provide positive male role models for our
kids. The time commitment is small, and the benefits you'll see from the children you
interact with are immeasurable. We already have a great group of gentlemen committed to
this and are hoping to add more to our roster.
If you are interested in learning more, please contact Dan Midea at 261-5672 (call or text) or dmidea@charter.net.
You may also visit www.fathers.com/watchdogs for more information about the program
