TODAY’S NEWS:
Congratulations to the Lion Swim Team for their exceptional performance at the Region 5 Championships at Texas A&M last Friday and Saturday. Relay
finalists included Ian Schoeplein, Matt Whieldon, Jayton De La Zerda, Madeleine Phillips, Morgan Sherry, McKenzie Sumner, Audrey De La Zerda and Ricardo
Vargas. Tanner Hartwick advanced to finals in the 500 free, Sarah Cano advanced in the 200 IM and the 100 backstroke, Josh Wellington advanced in the 200
IM and 100 breastroke, Cole Moosavi advanced in the 50 and 100 freestyle, setting the school record in the 100! Tanya Milanovich crushed the field and won
the 200 IM and an automatic ticket to State in school record breaking time. She will also represent Leander at State with a call-up in the 500 freestyle with a
school record setting time! Tanya will be the first Lion Swimmer in State in well over a decade! The swim season continues! Awesome job Lion Swimming!
Congratulations goes to the boys’ soccer team who defeated Marble Falls on Friday night 1-0. Angel Garza scored a fantastic goal in the closing minutes. The
defense recorded its third straight shut-out led by Kali Banda. The Lions will next take on East View tomorrow night.

Attention Seniors planning to attend Texas A&M University. The Williamson County A&M Foundation has 5, five thousand dollar scholarships for students
from Williamson County. Deadline to apply is April 1st. See Mr. Parsons or Ms. McClain for more information. Also, seniors please make sure you let the
guidance office know about ALL of your awards and scholarships! We hope to recognize your efforts and awards at Senior Awards Night in May!

There will be a Key Club meeting Wednesday, February 11 after school in Ms. McNay's room 2218. If you are planning to run for an officer position, this
meeting is MANDATORY. Hope to see everyone there!
Hey Latin Club, come on out and celebrate Lupercalia—the other Valentines’ Day! On Monday, February 16th, we will be meeting in Magistra Lueers’ room at
4pm to make Valentines and eat chocolates. We will also learn about the significance of Lupercalia and discuss important upcoming club business. Please attend
if you are able!
HOSA is sponsoring the Pasta for Pennies campaign for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society now thru the end of the month. There is a competition between
all 2nd period classes to see who donates the most money. The winning class gets a pasta party sponsored by the Olive Garden!
