We hope that you will find warmth and friendship in this place and God’s blessing and peace as we worship. At our Communion services, all are invited to come forward to receive bread and wine. If you would prefer to receive a blessing, simply keep your head bowed when you come to the front. If you require a gluten free wafer, please let a Welcomer know. Junior Church, for all ages, usually takes place in term time during the 10am service. There are also toys for small children at the back of church. Through a 5 week period we will seek to understand what the psalms meant in Bible times and what they mean for us today. There are 6 groups, all starting in the week beginning 23rd February: Mondays at 7.30pm; Tuesdays at 2.30pm & 7.30pm; Weds at 10.30am, 2.30pm & 7.30pm. Please sign up on the sheet at the back. Ash Wednesday Holy Communion Weds 18th February, 8am and 7.30pm. Please come along to mark the start of Lent. Experience Easter—can you help? Children from local schools will be visiting the church during the week of 22nd March to find out more about the meaning of Easter. Helpers are needed to read a brief story at each of the Easter “stations”. If you can help at any of the following sessions, please sign up at the back: Mon 23rd 1.45-2.45pm; Tues 24th 9.3010.30am; Tues 25th 1.45-2.45pm; Weds 26th 1.15-2.15 & 2.15-3.15pm. Diocesan Courses There is information on a variety of courses being organised by the Diocese on the Community Board. Junior Church There is no Junior Church today or next week due to half term. From 1st March, the leaders will be trialling a move to the Parish Centre. Watch this space for more information. Women’s World Day of Prayer Friday 6th March, 10.30am at St. Mary’s. The service has been prepared by the Christian women of the Bahamas and Revd Rosanne Roberts will be the speaker. Spare tickets to the RSC Nigel Sharp has 2 tickets to The Shoemakers Holiday, 28 Feb, 1.30pm, £38 each. See Nigel if you’re interested. Churchyard Clear Up The monthly churchyard tidy up mornings will be starting again on Sat 21st March (9am-1pm). Volunteers are always needed to keep the open space around St. Mary’s looking its best for all the people who walk through, come on a Sunday or attend baptisms, weddings and funerals. You don’t need to be green fingered! If you can help, simply turn up. Refreshments are provided.
