ESM Padua 2015
FAQ
What is the ESM Event?
The “European Subcontracting Matching” event allows buyers in the manufacturing industry and European suppliers,
specialising in industrial subcontracting, to meet and discuss requests for quotation and new projects.
What are the advantages for the buyer?
The buyer will meet qualified suppliers, in line with company standards. Before the event the organiser, thanks to its
specific knowledge in mechanical subcontracting and on the basis of the buyer’s requests for quotation, will select
the suppliers to whom the requests will be forwarded. Afterwards, the buyer will check the list of potential suppliers.
At this point the selected suppliers, eventually bound to a nondisclosure agreement, will have to verify the project’s
feasibility and their interest to prepare the related offer.
During the event, the buyer will therefore have targeted meetings and be able to start a negotiation about the offers
presented by the suppliers, without wasting time and energy.
Who are the suppliers?
The participating suppliers are small- and medium-size companies (from 15 to 250 employees, annual turnover
from € 1 million to € 50 million) specialising in different processes of mechanical subcontracting. They manufacture
exclusively custom-designed parts, in single pieces or in small, medium series up to mass production. They have
production facilities in Europe and are interested in increasing their customer portfolio.
Why in Padua?
Padua is in the heart of a very important industrial region in northern Italy. Veneto region counts in fact 4.9 million
inhabitants and more than 442,000 registered companies. This area is strongly focused on mechanical industry, has
good infrastructures and is well connected to airports and motorways.
How to participate?
In order to participate, please download the registration form from our website www.esm-agenda.com (“BUYERS

Simple steps to attend the ESM Event:

S
organizer
1. Purchasing needs
The buyer compares the current purchasing needs regarding industrial subcontracting with the list of
suppliers’ processes at pages 4 to 7.
2. Buyer’s participation
To join the event, the buyer sends the registration form, completed and signed, to the e-mail address
info@esm-agenda.com or to the fax number: +39 0423 721857.
3. RFQs and technical drawings
The buyer sends current requests for quotation to rfq@esm-agenda.com, complete with technical
drawings, information about surface and heat treatments, material type, annual production volumes,
non-disclosure agreement, terms of delivery and supply.
4. Suppliers selection
The organiser selects the potential suppliers according to the buyer’s RFQs and sends the “suppliers
list” to the buyer.
5. Evaluation of “suppliers list”
The buyer excludes not suitable suppliers from the list (e.g. suppliers already known to the company
or suppliers they are already working with). Thereafter, the buyer authorises the organiser to send the
RFQs to the selected suppliers and informs the organiser of the estimated time of arrival to the event.
6. RFQs and technical drawings to the suppliers
The organiser sends the RFQs to the selected suppliers, who verify the project’s feasibility and their
interest to prepare the related offer.
7. Buyer’s meeting list
The organiser sends the “meeting list” to the buyer.
8. Meetings between buyers and suppliers
During the event, the buyer will meet the selected suppliers and discuss with them about the projects
and their offers.
