PART TIME ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT VACANCY
An exciting opportunity has arisen for someone to work in the office at our County Headquarters. Excellent IT skills and
customer service skills are essential. 10 hours per week. Hours will be flexible but there will be a need to cover the core
office open hours between 10am – 2pm on a Wednesday and Thursday. For full details visit the news pages at
www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk. Closing date is Friday 13th March 2015.
GINORMOUS CHOIR EVENT
Sunday 14th June – Albert Hall, Nottingham city - from 10am - £10.00 per person
This will be our second Ginormous Choir event, the first one held in July 2013 was enjoyed by everyone who took part so we
hope all Leaders will bring their girls to have an enjoyable day learning a range of songs put together for us by Music for
Everyone. Songs this time will include a selection from Frozen, Bugsy Malone and a few other surprises. As before there will
be a concert for parents to bring the day to an end. Registration will be at 10am and the various sections will learn their
songs and group songs during the morning and rehearse during the afternoon with the band. Rainbows will probably come
later in the morning but all times will be confirmed nearer the date. At approx. 4pm, parents will come in for a performance
given by all sections. Unfortunately due to capacity of the Albert Hall we can only give one performance ticket to each child.
For full details and an application form, visit the Diary pages at www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk. Please send in
application form and cheque no later than 8pm, Wednesday, 25th March 2015. If you have any queries, contact Pam Lamb
at palamb171@btinternet.com.

LORD LIEUTENANT’S YOUTH PARADE
Sunday 19th April – Meeting at Nottingham Castle - 1.30pm - 4pm
Girlguiding Nottinghamshire has been invited by the Lord Lieutenant of Nottingham to join a huge youth parade, celebrating
St George’s Day, starting at the Nottingham Castle and leading into the Old Market Square. The parade will consist of four
separate processions each with its own band. This is a free event and we have been given 100 places. More information and
bookings will be made available via the website at www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk very soon.
GUIDE AND SENIOR SECTION CAMP PERMIT
Elton campsite - 10th July – 12th July 2015
For Guides or Senior Section Guides who would like to take their camp permit this year. Guides need to have gained their
advanced camper badge before the 10th July 2015. (This does mean they can gain it after the closing date.) The closing date
is 1st May 2015. For full details and an application form visit the Diary pages at www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk.
Please circulate this information to all your Guide and Senior Section groups and encourage them to look at the syllabus and
consider taking the permit. Guides who take permits often go on to be our future leaders. It is a fun weekend organised by
the girls for their own group. Adult leaders camp on site to assess and ensure safety. For more information contact Ann
Spare, Guide and Senior Section Adviser at annspare@aol.com
THOUSANDS GATHER FOR GO GLOBAL EVENT!
Over 600 members of Girlguiding Nottinghamshire aged from 5 to 25 joined 2,000 Girlguiding
colleagues from across the Midlands at ‘Go Global!’, a special girls-only arts festival on
Saturday 21 February. The Notts contingent included girls from units based in Southwell,
Bingham, Newark and Beeston plus Woodthorpe, Ranskill, Retford and Mansfield, as well as
West Bridgford and Nottingham city.
The action-packed day of dance, drama and music was staged at Newark Showground by
Girlguiding’s Midlands Region team. Girls from the 11 counties covered by Girlguiding Midlands
spent the day exploring the global arts scene and taking part in a host of hands-on activities.
Take a look at the Go Global Gallery page at www.girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk for
photographs from the day. If you were there, then why not send your photos to the PR team at
pr@girlguidingnottinghamshire.org.uk.
