Together We Shine
Wednesday 11 March 2015 Kia ora, Namaste, Shalom, Goddag, Aloha, Ni hao, Ola, Goede dag, Bonjour, Hola, Guten tag, Buon giorno, Malo e lelei. Town Bus Travel
As of next term we will be operating a new
system for parents wanting their child/ren to use
our town bus service.
Instead of the current system of purchasing
credits we will be operating a straight flat fee of
$20 per term.
Students will only be permitted to travel on our
town bus when the fee for the term has been
paid. To purchase your child/ren’s term two bus
fee please do so through the school office.
Year 5-6 Camp
A reminder to parents/caregivers that camp is
only 2 and a half weeks away.
Cost of camp for each student is $70 and this
should be paid at the school office.
There are also a number of Year 5 & 6 students
still to return the permission slips sent out last
week. Please can you ensure that these are
completed and returned to school as soon as
possible.
Mufti-Day Fundraiser
Thank you to all families that
supported out St Johns mufti-day. In
total we raised $156.20
Students celebrating the arrival of the Chromebook laptops
Chromebook Update
The Chromebooks have now been distributed
to students and are in use in our classrooms.
Students are already demonstrating their
creative and technical skills. We have also
noticed a significant increase of on task
behaviour. You can access student work via
the school website under the ‘Classes’ tab.
Due to demand we have placed an
additional order for 20 more Chromebook
Laptops.
If you wish you to take up the offer to
purchase one of these for your child then
please call into the office and complete a
purchase agreement form. These will be
sold on a first in first served basis.
We are also encouraging students to bring
along a mouse and personal headphones
should they own some.

Swimming Sports
Remember the time you saw Mrs Coll
speaking on the microphone, when it was
your turn you were
racing with other people you were so
nervous you have butterflies in your
tummies, your mum was yelling , so you
got faster and faster. The sun was
burning on me. That was swimming
sports.

Swimming Sports
On Friday the whole Waihi Central School
competed in the swimming sports in the pool. All
the children in the school competed in the races.
In the swimming sports I came second in all my
races. I swam in the freestyle and breath stroke.

Swimming Sports
The Swimming Sports were really cool I had heaps of
fun. I got to watch my friends swim. We had a lot of
amazing laughs and a few hiccups but they all got
fixed. I loved the Swimming Sports I got to help with
the little kids and make sure they didn’t go in the
deep end. Aria, Carlos, Byron etc went on to the
Cluster and they all did an amazing job. I think they
did extremely well and I hope everyone had an
extremely fun time. Parents, caregivers, family,
friends and many more people came. It was packed
with so many people, it was amazingly awesome and
I want to say thank you to everyone who helped out
and made the Swimming Sports happen.
Thank You

Triathlon
Last week Waihi Central School all
competed in triathlon. When we did the
run I felt like falling over. The swim was
nice. We had to do two lengths. We had
to do two laps of the field on the bike.
