Note: Some builds were not published. The document is divided into sections: this general introduction and then one section per client. 1.1 New Features Upgrading your Acano server to v1.6.x and your Acano Clients to v1.3.x, delivers the following new features to your Acano Solution: Ability to adapt the client through permission settings (user-levels) in the Acano Server API. For example: Enable users to create coSpaces Enable an individual to add or remove members or chat in the coSpace Enable users to delete messages in the coSpaces that they create A button is displayed to coSpace members who have the canDeleteAllMessages parameter set to true via the API. However, the default value is false, and therefore not everyone sees this button. See the Acano Solution R1.6 API Guide for details. Improved user experience when the connection temporarily drops. The "persistent connection" features means that if the connection to the Acano server drops, your content is still visible. However, you cannot post messages, make calls or create new coSpaces while the link is unavailable. Support for multiple Call Bridges, and the selection of the optimum Call Bridge depending on the optimal media path. Pictures allowed in the coSpace chat; simply copy or type the link to an image into the chat, and the image appears. A preview is shown if the image is within text. Note: If you are using v1.3 clients then ensure that the XMPP certificate, supplied by the Acano server, contains the domain name as a Subject Alternative Name (SAN) within the certificate, in addition to the Common Name in the certificate being the same as the FQDN. Otherwise, PC and Mac Clients will display a warning message, before allowing the user to continue. 1.2 Feedback We would like feedback on this release. Please ensure that one person at your site collates issues and acts as the single point of contact for Acano support. When providing feedback there are two types of logs that are useful: Acano Solution: Acano Clients V1.3 Release Notes 76-1036-06-Qb Page 3 If you experience a crash, you should get a popup window with crash debug information. Copy and paste that to an email in the support case. If you have other issues such as poor quality audio and you’re using one of the clients that have a debug facility, press the Debug button whilst the issue is happening, save the file and email it to the support case. If you encounter any issues, contact support@acano.com. 1.3 Feature Comparison Between Acano Clients PC OS X iPad iPhone WebRTC Product version 1.3.x 1.3.x 1.3.x 1.3.x 1.2 RC1 Support for v1.6 Acano server Yes Yes Yes Yes NA Images in coSpace chat Yes Yes Yes Yes NA User-level permissions (e.g. can create coSpace) Yes Yes Yes Yes NA Delete chat messages Yes Yes Yes Yes NA XMPP Registration Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Audio OPUS OPUS SPEEX SPEEX OPUS Mic/speaker/camera configuration controls Yes Yes NA NA Yes Advanced controls (audio boost, ecan, noise suppression) Yes Yes No No Yes Video H.264 H.264 H.264 NA VP8 Layout control Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Selfview Yes Yes Yes NA Yes Desktop sharing Yes Yes No NA No** Application sharing Yes Yes No NA No Chat Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Unread message indicator Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Incoming message notification configuration Yes Yes No No No Move call to external endpoint Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Acano Solution: Acano Clients V1.3 Release Notes 76-1036-06-Qb Page 4 PC OS X iPad iPhone WebRTC Add participants Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Send invitation Yes Yes No No Yes Encryption Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes DMTF Yes Yes Yes No Chrome only Create / edit coSpace Yes Yes Yes No No Search for Contacts Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Create / edit Contact Yes Yes No No No Guest-accessible Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes DTMF keypad Yes Yes Yes Yes Chrome Only Show presence Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes Send diagnostic log Yes Yes No No Yes Auto login Yes Yes Yes Yes NA In-call notification configuration Yes Yes No No No Acano Solution: Acano Clients V1.3 Release Notes 76-1036-06-Qb Page 5 2 Mac Client v1.3 This section of the release note describes the v1.3 (build v1.3.54) release for the Acano solution Mac Client. Specific bug fixes are given later in this section. 2.1 Installation Instructions 1. Click on the Mac Client Download link on the Acano Support page. 2. Open the dmg file and drag the ‘acanoclient’ icon into the Applications folder within the window that opens up. 3. If you already have an older version of the Acano Mac Client installed in the Applications folder, a prompt asks whether you want to replace it with the new one that you are moving. Select Replace. This will overwrite the previous version and if, for example, you have a shortcut in the dock this will now automatically launch the new version. Note: If you first remove an older Mac Client from the Applications folder and then copy the new one into it, clicking on the dock shortcut no longer works and the icon becomes a question mark because the icon still searches for the previous application version. Launching the new version from the Applications folder will result in a separate dock shortcut being created. Follow the instructions above to avoid this. 2.2 Resolved Mac Client Issues Resolved in Release v1.3 (Build 1.3.54) Reference Issue Summary 7273 Wrong link for guest login and empty dial URI In localized user interface an incorrect link and an empty URI were provided in the invitation for guest login.
