There will be fun activities and games throughout the school day and a free pizza lunch. We are asking our staff and students to wear something pink on that day--an article of clothing, a ribbon, hair dye, etc. The Day of Pink was started in the fall of 2007 after a student in a Nova Scotia high school was bullied for wearing a pink shirt and being openly gay. Two students saw the incident and intervened, but they felt that it was not enough. After some thought, they got every student at the school to wear pink as a way of saying, "Bullying stops with me. Anyone can be bullied, but if we all stand together, we can make it stop."
