Non-response to AP Telecom Circle’s request to relax the condition of NABH
Accreditation for empanelment of Hospitals under BSNL MRS for A.P. Circle as was done in
case of Tamilnadu Circle
Sir,
AP Telecom Circle (BSNL) had been time and again urging BSNL Corporate Office to relax
the condition of NABH accreditation for empanelment under BSNL MRS for AP Circle, as the SSAs
are facing acute shortage of empanelled Hospitals, due to this condition. We take this
opportunity to enclose a copy of one of such communications vide No. TA/WLF/1314/Nellore/Col.III dated 25.07.2014 from AP Telecom Circle Office for your kind perusal.

Other than Hyderabad, NABH accredited Hospitals are NOT available at SSA level so as to
empanel the hospitals. As a result, the BSNL employees – specially the retired employees at their
old age are facing the brunt. The employees from far-away places in the SSAs cannot always be
shifted to Hyderabad – specially under emergency condition for taking in-patient treatment in
empanelled hospitals.

In view of the above genuine difficulties, the AP Telecom Circle has been making the request
to relax the condition of NABH accreditation for empanelment under BSNL MRS for AP Circle in
the line of similar relaxation granted to Tamilnadu Circle. Unfortunately, the Circle is yet to be
granted the relaxation. As a result, the employees residing in SSAs, other than Hyderabad, are
still facing untold miseries.
4 In the above background, we earnestly request you to kindly intervene in the matter and get
the necessary orders issued relaxing the condition of NABH accreditation for empanelment under
BSNL MRS for AP Circle to mitigate the hardships faced by the BSNL employees residing in the
SSAs outside Hyderabad.
