AM I ALLURA METALS, INC. 125 EAST SELANDIA LANE, CARSON, CALIFORNIA, USA, 90746 “THE ALTERNATIVE METALS LEADER” ABIASIALTD@YAHOO.COM / WWW.ALLURAMETALS.COM / allurametals@aol.com / USA Phone (310)769-0600 NEW STERLING CLEAN SCRAP RECYCLING PROGRAM AMI has developed a proprietary Sterling clean scrap recycling process that enable us to recycle clean trees and buttons at a lower cost than traditional refining and with a faster metal turn around time. The recycled Sterling is then blended with 40 to 50% new metal. Purity and oxygen levels in the re-blended grain will be similar to 100% virgin Sterling grain which will result in higher quality castings that can not be achieved by blending clean scrap in house. With De-Ox Sterling recycling, we will add a repleniser to restore burned off Zinc and Silicon and to achieve the proper assay level. Call AKI today for more information. BRONZE THE STERLING ALTERNATIVE Costume jewelry continues to grow in popularity as a low cost alternative to Sterling and Karat Gold. Brass and Bronze alloys give designers the ability to create large bold designs at an affordable price. These new designs can cause casting challenges for manufacturers not familiar with these metals. AMI offers a variety of premium alloys blended with high purity metals and additives with the following benefits: Great color selection in yellow, white and red Improved casting properties IMPACT CENTER FEB. 24TH TO 28TH BOOTH #WW 43/45 AMI CASTING SERVICE Our new Bangkok factory is currently producing high quality Sterling and Brass/Bronze alloy at competitive prices. AMI will now begin offering a casting service to customers that prefer to outsource this operation. Many of our innovative alloys (ie: nickel free white Bronze ) require casting process modifications that customers are unwilling to make in-house. Our casting service will focus on these alloys and achieve high quality casting results on traditional alloy blends. NICKEL FREE WHITE GOLD ALLOY Improved tarnish resistance Increased hardness/durability High purity composition (lead/cadmium free) required by many retailers Hand fabrication alloys Nickel Free White Bronze (#16) - Offers a good, white color and improved casting performance at a lower temperature (1020 C) than Nickel based alloys. SPRING HARD DE-OX STERLING VISIT US AT BANGKOK SHOW New #850 Nickel Free white gold alloy for 10K and 14K applications. The high silver formula has excellent casting properties at a fraction of the cost of Palladium based alloys. The alloy meets all nickel release requirements of the European Union. SPRING Fall 20122015 Sterling Silver continues to be the most popular alternative metal to Gold jewelry manufacturers seeking to achieve lower price points for their jewelry designs. The softness of regular Sterling (75V) and deox Sterling (65-70V) creates strength and durability issues in using this alternative metal. AMI has developed a new member of our patented Sterling De-Ox Sterling with 12% greater “as cast” hardness (84V) and heat treated hardness of 125V (65% harder) to solve these durability issues. The new #127 Sterilite has good casting properties and tarnish resistance significantly greater than traditional Sterling. ABI offers a family of patented Sterling De-Ox alloys with different levels of hardness, tarnish resistance and casting properties to meet your needs. Try our new 400B with forgiving casting properties, high hardness and a very competitive price. Please call us for a complete technical data sheet to determine the alloy that meets your needs. PLATINUM STERLING AMI’s patented Platinum Sterling product is expanding it’s market share as a white gold alternative at major retailers and designers throughout the USA. We offer a 1%, 3.5% and 5% Platinum blend with the following benefits: Bright Platinum white color at 10% the cost of 14K gold High tarnish resistance (no plating required) Hardness 15-25% greater than Sterling for more durability Excellent firescale free casting properties Palladium Sterling is also available Create your own alternative white gold designs today using a quality metal with high perceived customer value at a fraction of the cost of 14K. Achieving high quality sterling silver casting can be a challenge particularly with some of today’s new designs. Sterling casting is very susceptible to porosity, hard spots, cracking and micro inclusions which can be caused by a number of factors. Fine silver contamination is one area that if often overlooked. The worldwide supply of silver has two problems. One is oxygen impregnation with contributes to porosity and the other is trace element contamination of metals like iron, nickel, sulfur, lead and antimony which can cause a variety of problems. Most suppliers of fine silver worldwide supply silver below 0.9999 fineness which is loaded with oxygen and trace element contamination. High quality Sterling casting cannot be achieved with this fine silver. There are a couple of solutions to this problem. One is to purchase fine silver that is 0.9999+ fineness and ask for an assay certification that confirms the fineness and trace elements contained. Next, the silver should be preblended with high purity alloy prior to casting. The blending process should be under a cover gas to purge any oxygen from the grain The second option is to purchase blended Sterling grain from a reputable supplier like AMI. All AMI grain is blended with 0.9999+ fine silver and high quality alloys under an oxygen free environment to minimize oxygen entrapment in the grain. This higher purity low oxygen grain will significantly improve the quality of your Sterling casting. Re-blending clean silver scrap with new Sterling in house creates similar contamination issues. Unless the clean scrap is cleaned properly, contaminates will be present in the re-blended Sterling that will cause problems in your casting. AMI can solve this problem by cleaning and recycling your trees and buttons for you. Call AMI today to discuss this new program.
