Position Announcement Position: Location: Reports to: Department: Network Specialist I Charlotte, NC Network Administrator II ITCO American Forest Management, Inc. (AFM) is the largest forest consulting and real estate brokerage firm in the United States. AFM currently manages over 5.1 million acres of privately owned timberland and has sold over $1.8 billion in real estate in 2,100+ transactions since 2005. With 260 employees operating from 49 offices located in 16 states, AFM’s team of professionals is focused on meeting client needs by providing a complete range of forestry services. Our small regionally dispersed offices allow us to provide individualized services, and our large overall size allows us to coordinate teams of foresters and technical specialists for large, complex jobs. Our Information Technology Department is currently seeking a Network Specialist I. This position is responsible for Network and Systems administration and support of servers, internet and VPN security, firewalls, backup systems in a Windows environment. This position entails high client interaction, daily administration and support of our customer base Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assembles and configures network components and associated services. Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems. Installs, upgrades, and tests network hardware and software components as required. Installs, upgrades, and configures network printing, directory structures, rights, security, software and files services. Performs network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems Provides users with network technical support. Responds to needs and questions of users concerning their access of network resources. Establishes network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks being installed. Troubleshoots problems with networks, web services, mail services, and other systems. Plans and prepares technical reports and instructional manuals as documentation of program development. Makes recommendations on all matters related to information technology. Performs other related duties and tasks as necessary or as assigned. Computer Skills: Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, internet, and database software. Setup/Installation/Maintenance of Server 2008R2 and/or Server 2012R2. Setup/Installation/Maintenance of Exchange 2010 and/or Exchange 2013. Setup/Installation/Maintenance of Firewalls, Switches, Routers, etc. Knowledge of System Center 2012. Knowledge of HyperV (2008R2 & 2012 R2). Knowledge of Active Directory (2008 R2 & 2012 R2). Additional Knowledge and Abilities: Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly. Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization. Ability to develop strong team relationships with managers, co-workers, clients, and customers. Attention to detail and timely completion of tasks. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information. Qualifications: Associate's degree in computer-related field of study (A. A.S.) or equivalent from two-year College or Technical School; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
