CRAFT INSTRUCTORS TRAINING SCHEME (CITS) Trades offered :i) Electrician ii) Wireman iii) Fitter iv) Turner v) Machinist vi) Electronic Mechanic vii) Motor Mechanic Vehicle. viii) Welding Programme structure : It is of one year duration conducted on Semester basis as below: i) SEMESTER – I - 06 Months The following modules are covered a) Trade Technology-I (Comprising of Basic components of trade practice and theory) b) Engineering Technology (Comprising of Workshop Calculations & Science and Engg. Drawing) ii) SEMESTER – II - 06 Months The following modules are covered a) Trade Technology-II (Comprising of Advanced components of trade practice and theory) b) Training Methodology (Comprising of Teaching Practice and Principles of Teaching) Start of session: 1st August of every year and 1st Feb of every year How to Apply : Admissions to the above trades are through All India Common Entrance Examination. Applications for the same are invited through the advertisement in Employment News / regional newspapers during the month of June/Dec of every year. Entrance Examination Fees – Rs. 300/- for General Category and Rs. 100/- for SC / ST candidates Eligibility for Admission NCVT certificate in the relevant trade or Diploma / Degree from a recognized Board of Technical Education / University or Equivalent. Preference will be given to the candidates deputed by Govt. / Pvt. ITIs. However, private candidates meeting the above requisites are also considered for admission subject to the availability of seats, on order or merit. Age limit : Minimum 18 years, No upper age limit Admission & Award of Certificate Candidates can enroll for the above programmes in different spells or in continuation of each module as per their convenience. A candidate has to secure 60 % Sessional marks in Theory and Practicals and also have a minimum of 80 % attendance. On possessing the above requisites, candidates will be allowed to appear for the final examination conducted by NCVT, New Delhi in Jan / July every year. On passing the prescribed exam in each semester, trainees will be awarded the Instructor training Certificate from NCVT in a convocation ceremony.
