us as we celebrate our 51st Annual Residents’
Days program.
The Residents’ Days program provides an
educational forum for Bascom Palmer residents,
fellows, faculty, and alumni to present clinical and
basic science research. It will be held at the Jose
Berrocal Auditorium at the Bascom Palmer Eye
Institute in Miami, Florida on June 19-20, 2015.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This program is designed for the residents, fellows,
faculty and alumni of the Department of Ophthalmology,
University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and
community ophthalmologists.
Participants will be updated on new instrumentation
available and also on the progress of on-going clinical
studies and research and their effects on the treatment
of patients. Didactic presentations will be augmented
with audiovisuals in addition to question/answer
periods.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this program, participants should be
able to:
• Compare indications and techniques for vitreoretinal
surgical procedures
• Diagnose ocular infectious diseases through the use
of microbiology
• Identify ocular neoplasms and other corneal
conditions
• Determine appropriate use of intraocular injections
• Examine diagnostic capabilities of imaging for
glaucoma and formulate treatment plans based on
imaging data

Registration rate is $275 for BPEI Alumni Association members and $300 for non-members. Conference fees include
course materials, continental breakfast, refreshment breaks,
and Friday’s lunch. Tickets to the Saturday night dinner are
$150 per person.
