Thank You - Brooke Central Public School
Thank You
As we enter the month of March, it is time to
change our focus from the dreaded weather
and snow, cold, and freezing weather, to
counting our blessings. It is too often that we
forget the good things in our efforts to complain about the not so pleasant things.
Let’s count our blessings …
 Mme. Koncovy, who retired at the end of
November still comes to school each week
to teach the religion course, no matter the
weather, or the other activities she has to
do that day! She has been a great helper to
our kids, and she continues to provide leadership in the community
 The Hayter Group, who is a very generous
community business, has donated $1000.00
to Brooke Central as a result of a contest on
their website. A representative of the Hayter Group will be at the school before the

McGugan, who at their meeting in January
donated $500.00 to Rebound to help cover
the costs of the STAGE and TAG programs
for our junior students. The programs will
run for ten sessions each, one for boys and
one for girls, providing guidance and leadership in the development of strong social and
personal skills. Thank you Mr. Mayor and
your councilors. Well Done!
 The Optimist Club of Alvinston and Districts
who have provided our school with so
much, and continue to support us in our efforts. The Optimists provide us with our
Annual Christmas Dinner and Skate, and are
planning to donate funds to us as well to
help pay for TAG and STAGE. We thank
each and every Optimist for their unwavering support and enthusiastic encouragement
for our programs and efforts on behalf of
students!

 Mrs. Baresich, Mrs. Smith and their team
who organized the Brooke Central Christmas
Craft Fair, where once again we have been
very successful! Raising over $4500.00 in
one day is an amazing feat, one to be admired by many communities. It exemplifies
the adage that “many hands make light
work”, as it is a true team effort that is suc-
ed staff members who give before and after
school, or at lunch times for practices and
games. Along with this are the teachers who
look after the programs involving the arts,
music especially, and the many hours of
practice that come before those perfect performances. To those staff members, we say
thank you and well done!
As you can see, we have much to be thankful
for! Well done, for making Brooke the great
place it is for kids and adults alike!
The second Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Brooke Central after the March Break.
The cases of books will be open for display in the Computer Lab from March 26 to
March 31 between 9 AM and 4 PM. This is a great opportunity to purchase reading
material for preschool children to adults. Support your children's reading goals by
buying books at this time. As well, the school's classroom libraries will benefit
through commission made from sales from this book fair. Explore an ocean of books
at Brooke.
