It was wonderful to see a stream of new visitors to the Gallery. The display is a testament to the excellent teaching in the arts within Coast Union School District as well as the rising talents of the students. The show concluded Sunday, March 22nd. Exchange Day for our Spring Juried Show, Cultural Heritage, was Tuesday, March 24th. The show will run through May 3rd. Our juror for this show, Harold Spencer, will present awards to the prize winners during our reception on Friday, March 27th. Professor Emeritus at the University of Connecticut where he taught History of Art, Harold Spencer is also an artist, art juror, and author . He currently has a studio at Studios on the Park in Paso Robles. Award winners will be announced later on our Facebook page and our website. Improvements to the Gallery and general facility will be made soon. Look for new signage to appear over our current sign which remains broken and will be a long-term project to replace. We also hope to have better lighting in the Gallery very soon thanks to the efforts of Jack Della-Bitta. Artists who wish to contribute to the purchase of these lights will have their work lighted with one of the new spots. Many people have been taking advantage of the new Wednesday Gallery hours. This has been possible because of an increase in volunteers. We thank everyone who gives of their time to Cambria Center for the Arts. There are behind the scenes jobs such as GALLERY HOURS cleaning up the kitchen and/or Mauve Room, painting touch-ups of pedestals, signs, etc., organizing our storage container and others. Some Wednesdays please call Gallery 927-8190 We probably have a job to match your skill.
