Job description:
The Facilities Manager oversees physical plant maintenance, event management, gallery
installation and tenant services at Disjecta’s 18,000-square-foot facility in the Kenton
neighborhood.
Duties:

Management of internal and external events including rental exhibitions,
performances and other functions such as parties, weddings, fundraisers and
corporate events
Point of contact for rental clients and project partners (including budgeting/bidding
and scheduling of events)
Event management (staffing) for internal and external events
Installation and de-installation of event equipment and artwork, including theatrical
lighting, sound equipment and other specialty rigging
Working with Gallery Manager to coordinate installation of work and calendar
Managing the functioning of building systems including mechanical, electrical,
fire/life safety and maintenance of buildings and grounds.
Gardening, mowing and maintenance of Clyde Park, Disjecta’s open space
Act as primary contact to studio rental tenants for maintenance and facilities
concerns
Work with Executive Director to supervise internal improvements and/or manage
contractor work on facility renovation projects
Qualifications:

Candidate should have working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical
systems
Candidate should have excellent working knowledge of AV equipment and
technology for events, performances and artwork installations
Gallery preparator experience strongly preferred, including painting, sheetrock
repair, art installation and miscellaneous gallery maintenance skills
Prior budgeting experience and strong math skills
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills

Ability to work with minimal supervision, strong problem solving skills and a high
tolerance for last minute changes, unique circumstances and unreasonable
demands
Prior experience in facilities or event management or in a gallery or performance
environment is preferred but not required.
This position requires a high degree of schedule flexibility since most events are
evenings and weekends, while tenant services and routine maintenance must be
performed during business hours.
