Barbara A. Knoflach appointed
Global Head of Investment Management
Barbara A. Knoflach is appointed Global Head of Investment Management of BNP Paribas
Real Estate starting Summer 2015.
In her role, Barbara A. Knoflach will be responsible for defining the strategy for the business
line and lead its effective execution through almost 300 employees in eight countries:
France, Italy, Germany, United-Kingdom, Spain, Luxembourg, Belgium and Netherlands.

serve our corporate customers, with the objective to reach 30 billion of Assets under
Management and consolidate our position in the Top 5 European league-table,” said

In 2014, BNP Paribas Real Estate's Investment Management business line raised more
than €1.7 billion of new cash in 2014. At the end of 2014, it had €20.3 billion in assets
under management in Europe (79% for institutional investors).
Biography of Barbara A. Knoflach
Barbara A. Knoflach (born 1965) was CEO of SEB Asset
Management AG since August 2005. Before that, she was
appointed managing director of the investment company SEB
Investment GmbH in June 1999. Ms Knoflach joined the SEB
Bank group in 1994, where she played a key role in establishing
the Closed-end Real Estate Fund and Real Estate Leasing areas
in the first few years.
After finishing her business administration studies in 1986, she
began her career in Deutsche Bank AG’s International Project
Financing unit in Frankfurt am Main. In 1991, she switched within
Deutsche Bank Group to the Consulting and Research
department of the bank’s real estate subsidiary.

Ms Knoflach served as chairman of the Board of Directors of AFIRE (Association of Foreign
Investors in Real Estate), and as member of the Board of BVI (German Investment Funds
Association). She is a member of the Executive Board of ZIA (the German Property
Federation), a member of the International Advisory Board for REAI (Real Estate Academic
Initiative) at Harvard University, and a Trustee of ULI (Urban Land Institute). As chairman of
the Advisory Board, she helped to create CREA® (Certified Real Estate Analyst), a program
run by IREBS (International Real Estate Business School) and DVFA (the Society of
German Investment Professionals).
