2015 Moeller Lacrosse Coaching Staff Varsity Sean McGinnis Coach McGinnis enters his second season as Head Coach at Moeller High School after guiding the program to a 10-10 season last year. This is Coach McGinnis’s 11th season of coaching lacrosse with the last 6 as head coach. Sean has been a head coach at two other High Schools, both in Central Ohio. Coach McGinnis has complied at 64-49 record overall for the last six seasons and along the way been named Coach of the Year for the Ohio Capital Conference. This season Coach McGinnis and his staff have put an emphasis on being a complete team this year. That started with off season training in September, 6am lifting sessions and team building sessions. Coach McGinnis feels like the attitude of this year’s team will dictate how far they will play in the post season. This year’s team will be led by some very talented seniors who have several years of varsity experience. Coach McGinnis is also involved with the Brine National Lacrosse Classic as Coach for Team Ohio. The Brine NLC is a national High School tournament held every summer and brings together the best high school lacrosse players to compete for the title National Champions. Coach McGinnis is also part of the Notre Dame Lacrosse camp staff and 3D Lacrosse Midwest coaching staff for the 3D Blue-chip tryouts. Coach McGinnis’s daughter Alexis, is a junior at Marion Pleasant High School where she plays volleyball and runs track. Coach McGinnis attends St. Susanna Parrish. Noah Gibby Noah is a second season at Moeller. He is a 2007 graduate from Mariemont HS where is played varsity lacrosse for three years. Coach Gibby was part of the 2007 Division II State Championship team for Mariemont and was named MVP of the title game. After High School, Noah attended Roanoke College where he played four seasons for the Maroons. After graduation, Noah began his coaching career as an Assistant at Roanoke for the 2012 season. Coach Gibby is also on the Cincinnati Royals Lacrosse Club Coaching Staff. Brian Powell Brian Powell returns for his second year coaching at Moeller High School. He is a 2007 graduate where he played lacrosse under Coach Tom Kennedy. During his junior and senior seasons, the team went to back to back State Final Fours. Brian played Defense and LSM at Moeller and continued his lacrosse career at Purdue and The Ohio State University. Brian has also served as a coach for the Cincinnati Royals Lacrosse Club. He continues to play club lacrosse for Cincinnati Men’s and OSU Alumni teams. Chad Clark Chad enters his first year as an Assistant Coach at Moeller. He is originally from the DC area and played collegiately at Lynchburg College where he was a three time All American. Following his four year career, he stayed on at Lynchburg for two years as an Assistant Coach. He resides in the Milford area and works in the arena of Medical Device Sales. He is married to his wife, Emily, and they have three children; Wesley, age 3, and twin daughters Reece & Stella, age 1. 2015 Moeller Lacrosse Coaching Staff JV Ryan Aloisio Coach Aloisio returns for his fourth season at Moeller and first year as JV Head Coach. Coach Aloisio is a 2002 graduate from Moeller where he was a three year varsity letter winner. Ryan’s primary role with the JV is to coach the offense. After playing at Moeller, Coach Aloisio played lacrosse at Wingate University, where he played for two years, before transferring to Ohio State. Aaron Cain Aaron Cain has been coaching in Cincinnati for several years with the 2015 season being his first at Moeller High School. He played four years of varsity lacrosse at Sycamore High School between 2004 and 2008, including 3 as a starting attackman. After High School, Aaron attended The Ohio State University where he played 3 seasons for their club team before suffering a career ending injury. Upon graduating from Ohio State, he moved back to Cincinnati to pursue a professional and coaching career. From 2012-2014, Aaron coached for Sycamore High School, his alma mater. He spent 1 year as an assistant JV coach and two as a varsity offensive assistant/attack specialist. Alex Trainor Alex Trainor is a first year lacrosse coach at Moeller High School. He is a 2007 graduate from DuPont Manual in Louisville, KY where he played varsity lacrosse for three years. After High School, Alex attended the University of Louisville where he played four seasons for the Cardinals. After graduation, Alex began his coaching career at Louisville Collegiate School and the Laxville Club team. He currently plays for the Derby City Men’s team in Louisville KY Michael Steward Mike begins his first year as an Assistant Coach at Moeller. He was born and raised in the Cincinnati area while being a graduate of Miami University. He currently works in the IT consulting industry as a Cloud Architect and resides in the neighborhood of Oakley. Mike looks forward to his opportunity to be a part of the Moeller community.
