IEEE, OIF, T11, etc. Conference calls to support efforts COBO Meeting April 2015 11 Funding Many models used throughout the industry Typical expenses Executive/Managing Director Administrative, technical administration/support, legal Website creation and support Fees based on membership level and revenue Budget Cover startup costs Build/hire services as need to support the work of the volunteers COBO Meeting April 2015 12 Membership Founding members: 17 Steering members: 6 Associate members: 11 Since launch on March 23, 2015 Associate members: 6 Pending members: 4 Investigating: 10+ Growth is very encouraging to support funding the organization COBO Meeting April 2015 13 Industry Reaction Multiple press articles issued across the industry OSA offer for a panel at OFC 2016 EETimes, Network World, Lightwave, etc. Organizer to contact us in June during planning phase Michael Lebby reached out about coordination with new DoD consortium Not many details at this point in time as contact occurred yesterday COBO Meeting April 2015 14 Meeting Planning Next meetings (members only) Targeting the week of June 15th for a full-day meeting in Seattle, WA USA Looking to possibly co-locate August and October meetings with OIF meetings in Ottawa and Shanghai, respectively Goal is to try to have meetings coincide with other industry related events Meeting locations will rotate globally to be as fair as possible Members are welcome to host a meeting Conference calls to be used to help progress the work between meetings COBO Meeting April 2015 15 Next Steps Formalize working groups Treasurer and team will work on the budget and fee structure Finalize details for June meeting Liaise with other organizations COBO Meeting April 2015 16 Discussion Q&A COBO Meeting April 2015 17 Thank You!
