Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More provides a range of supports and services that enable seniors and
adults with disabilities to live with independence and dignity in their own homes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
We are seeking a highly motivated, dynamic individual to assist the Chef and kitchen team with the preparation of various dishes and
desserts. Duties include:
 Washing, peeling and chopping vegetables
 Portioning salads and desserts
 Assistance on the meal assembly line
 Delivering Meals on Wheels
 Assisting with Community Dining
 Other duties as assigned
Both positions will work from our Breslau Site. Daily access to a vehicle for travel throughout Waterloo Region is required.
Hours of Work: 12-16 weeks
35 hours per week
(daytime, weekday, but flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends is required)
Salary: $12.12 per hour
Skills, Knowledge and Training:
Experience with seniors, volunteers and/or adults with disabilities and/or proficiency in languages other than English are decided assets.
Candidates with education in culinary management, cook apprenticeship, hospitality studies and/or nutrition are encouraged to apply.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and time management skills, thrive on a
fast-paced and ever changing work environment, pay great attention to detail and be interested in furthering the work of Community
Support Connections – Meals on Wheels & More.
This position is contingent upon funding from the Canada Summer Jobs, a component of the Youth Employment Strategy. To be
eligible for these positions, applicants must:
 be between 15 AND 30 YEARS OF AGE at the start of the employment;
 have been registered as full-time students in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in
the next academic year;
 be Canadian citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration
and Refugee Protection Act; and,
 be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
