Delivering four collections each for both men and women, their design is both simple and timeless enough to quantify as “staple pieces” in your wardrobe, but still have that fashion twist that makes them different. The brand has released their FW 2015 Collection for both men and women. Image Source: Denimology.com The collection for women continues to include their traditional Pedal Pusher jeans. These jeans are their staple and have been in every CLOSED collection since their very beginning. They are available in several options, such as high waisted and straight leg, or the skinny pedal p u s h e r, a m o n g others. The feel of these jeans is very soft and pleasant, they feel like “real” denim, and have very little stretch, if any at all. Secondly and more importantly the fit is impeccable. Most of their jeans have some very special seams at the waistband and below, these are the “secret” of a perfectly fitting waistband and butts. Besides their traditional staples, their new collection for women also features some super interesting takes of different Image Source: Denimology.com denim washes in the same pair of jeans, and beautifully tailored denim trousers. These trousers are perfect for a more formal look, or even for you to wear at work. All in all, The FW 15 collection for women is a complete lifestyle collection, and also includes interesting coats, jackets, and sweaters. The CLOSED men’s collection for fall and winter 2015 has some new offerings including super interesting patched jeans. The barnd has also added their very own version of a raw selvedge pair of jeans, in a medium weight, with the CLOSED traditional slim straight leg, see below. The bleached and distressed jeans also continue for the Fall Winter collection. After all, distressing and patching and re-constructing is exactly what makes this brand so unique and absolutely awesome. Many top Western fashion brands have included denim in their spring and summer items, its popularity bolstered in part by the advanced technologies of Japanese textile manufacturers, who have turned out such products as soft, flexible denim. Gucci used bleached denim for a military-style jacket accentuated with gold buttons and wideleg pants with turned-up bottoms, while Fendi presented a three-piece suit using denim. A blouson with a stand-up collar was worn on a shirt, combined with loose pants. Michael Kors combined a short jacket with creased pants, both using navy denim in a fetching combination. Leather patches that doubled as pockets of the jacket also added to the look. Kayo Murakami, museum curator said “Today, designers are turning out sophisticated denim fashions that overturn the fabric’s casual image. Underlying this trend is the development of new technologies and materials” . The denim used for luxury brand clothing is the fruit of advanced technologies, which have led to soft, flexible denim textiles. They are comfortable to wear and create a flattering silhouette. These technologies have also added subtle hues and delicate textures to denim, making it possible to meet the increasingly diverse requests of designers. For example, a new long dress by Bottega Veneta used a soft denim manufactured in Japan, impressing observers with its elegant Images Source: The-japan-news.com drapes. A jacket by Etro used a thin denim that looked splendid decorated with geometric motifs. The denim used for a pair of pants by Dolce & Gabbana has been processed to look well-worn despite being new. Ornaments themed on flowers and heart shapes were stitched on. Burberry Prorsum presented a jacket using a flexible denim manufactured in Japan. The waist was cinched and its lower part was decorated with wool ornaments. Christopher Bailey, chief executive officer and designer at Burberry Prorsum, said the jacket was meant to surprise people by giving a denim cloth a feminine silhouette. Images Source: The-japan-news.com Denim is being used for many shoes and bags, too. Today Japanese denim has become a product that represents Cool Japan attracting the attention of Western luxury brands. Elaborating on the decision to open the office Thomas Dislich, Director VICUNHA for Europe and Asia said "Bangladesh is the biggest centre for the manufacture of denim material. The fact that exports were made last year to the tune of 25 billion dollars speaks for itself. Denim constitutes approximately 15% to 20% of the total exports. It is the perfect hub for manufacturers, suppliers and traders to converge and thus makes it an ideal place for VICUNHA to open up yet another branch. We already have a strong client base in Bangladesh and the office will in fact contribute towards raising the level of our services to clients". Junaid Safdar, Regional Manager VICUNHA Bangladesh, will head the denim manufacturer's branch office in Dhaka. Currently, VICUNHA's Asian clients in Bangladesh, Cambodia and Vietnam get deliveries from its logistics centre with an average storage capacity of one million meters of material in Colombo, Sri Lanka. In its role of a Brazilian denim ambassador in Bangladesh, VICUNHA seeks direct contact with the industry and also makes use of trade fairs like "DenimsandJeans", as one of its founder exhibitors, to expand its network. VICUNHA products have been supplied to Bangladesh since the last four years and the company provides the now widely known '3-day-service' image: Image Source: Rh-pr.de ex-warehouse thanks to its existence in Colombo, Sri Lanka. With branches "all over the globe" VICUNHA ranks among the leading pioneers in matters relating to service. "We serve 4,500 customers worldwide thanks to our wide range of services. In-house pre-production of large volumes gives us this incredible flexibility and the capacity to deliver in three days" says Thomas Dislich. Images Source: Sportwearnet.com Source : Sportswearnet.com Talley Jeans offering new denim designs each week Any model of Talley Jeans could be discontinued without warning at any moment because each design is a limited edition model and available only while it seems relevant to the brand’s creative director, Ben Talley Smith. Another unique thing about the brand is that each pair of Talley jeans comes with its own birth certificate and garment identification number. When a customer orders a pair, they get an email update at every step in the jean-creation process. Smith launched the eponymous brand of men’s and women’s jeans late last year, after doing time with some serious names including Alexander Wang, Aritzia, Rag & Bone/JEAN, Helmut Lang, Marc by Marc, 3×1 and Vince. The business is mostly online, but the brand hosted its first pop up in LA a month ago, and there is a potential of more popups in NYC and LA this year. Talking about the thought process behind releasing new denim designs each week Smith says, “It seemed interesting to provide newness as much as possible so launching items every week seemed interesting. Being online only currently we don’t have to abide by season or specific deliveries, our only goal is to promote product we like. It allows us to continually design new items and washes and give the customer something special every week. Something to look forward to.” Image Source: Eatsleepdenim.com Talking about models being available for a limited time only he expressed, “No, we are building the line so for the time being everything is available until we feel its relevance is no longer necessary for the collection.” The brand will release one men’s and one women’s design each week either a new wash or fit. The brand updates customers every few days with the real time status of their jean. Whenever a jean moves from one stage to another (cutting to sewing, sewing to laundry) the customer is updated with interesting facts on where there jean is as well as the people involved. Expressing his views on an all-time favorite denim style Smith said “Currently it’s our high rise slim in LOLA. It’s the perfect replica of a vintage jean but it’s so much better."
