Cook Library, Towson University, Towson, MD In this position, I am responsible for managing, assessing, and setting a strategic vision for the library’s outreach and student engagement initiatives with a focus on new students and special populations. In this role, I work closely with a variety of campus stakeholders both in academic and student affairs divisions as well as librarians within the research and instruction department. Additionally, I administer a student leadership program which gives three students annually a leadership role in the library’s outreach and research assistance initiatives. In addition to my outreach leadership role, I work as a part of the library’s Research and Instruction department with reference, instruction, and liaison responsibilities to the Nursing and Women’s & Gender studies departments as well as Student Affairs. In this role, I teach 20-25 library instruction sessions a semester, provide reference desk coverage and work with my liaison faculty for resource purchases and research assistance. I also have lead many initiatives within my department such as a professional development program, an instruction program revamp, and a library workshop program. Emerging Technologies Librarian: (Librarian I): July 2008- July 2011 Albert S. Cook Library, Towson University, Towson, MD In this position I worked to integrate new technology solutions into reference and instruction services. Some examples of the projects completed include implementing text and chat reference, developing the help guides repository ( http://cooklibrary.towson.edu/helpguides/ ), user testing and development of the course and subject gateway system, and assitance in the development of the mobile webpage. In addition to my technology role, I worked as a part of the library’s Research and Instruction department with reference, instruction, and liaison responsibilities to several departments in the College of Health Professions. I had significant instruction, reference, and collection development responsibilities. Postgraduate Library Intern : July 2007 - July 2008 Eskind Biomedical Library, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN This full time, paid position was in a health sciences librarianship training program with an emphasis on searching, health sciences technology, instruction, and continuing education courses. I collaborated with Vanderbilt Medical Center’s faculty and students on answering complex clinical research questions on patient treatment, disease research and medical guidelines. Additionally, I provided reference, research, and instruction services for Vanderbilt Medical Center’s staff, students, and faculty. Special projects included developing and updating hands-on staff technology training modules, and researching all publisher open access policies for NIH public access requirements. HillSearch Project Lead: January 2005 - July 2007 James J. Hill Reference Library, St. Paul, MN In this position, I worked as a membership manager and trainer for a private, non-profit small business library. I handled all administrative duties related to the library’s primary membership and served as a trainer for remote programs. Through this position, I implemented a new online business resources instruction program utilizing various conferencing and screencasting programs, collaborated with other organizations in developing support services for entrepreneurs and small business owners, and held in-person seminars on how to conduct business research. Additionally, I handled all document delivery and interlibrary loan for the library. Assistant to the Volunteer Coordinator: August 2001- July 2003 Friends of the Minneapolis Public Library, Minneapolis, MN In this role, I provided administrative support to the Volunteer Coordinator for the Minneapolis Public Library system.
