Here is to a wonderful spring at Creech Road. We are glad to have made it through the grip of winter. Before you blink, it will be our last day of school and we will be looking forward to the long lazy days of summer. Our students are working hard to finish the year strong. Our teachers are busy, using spring Case 21 data to guide them in providing instruction that will help students meet goals before EOGs and the end of the year. Please ask your child’s teacher if you have any questions about the recent report cards or CASE 21 data for 3rd-5th grade. Also, all students will be assessed on reading skills for a final benchmarking period beginning May 11th. EOG testing will begin the week of May 18th. EOG Tips Parents, there are some tips and reminders that will help end of grade sleep prior to testing day! Eat a good breakfast! Continue to work on stamina-reading for 45 minutes to one hour without stopping. Remember to mark your answers in book and re-check your answers as time allows. Use testing strategies that teachers have taught-underlining important information, reading questions first and process of elimination of answers. PTA Our PTA is always working collaboratively behind the scenes to provide programs for our students. They helped make the 4th and 5th grade field trips to the coastal area of the state affordable for our students and they have sponsored several events including movie nights. A link for the survey is posted on the CRES website and we have a computer in the front office available for your use. The link for the survey, should you prefer, is https://www.surveymo nkey.com/r/GLCNWZ7. Literacy Night Creech Road will be hosting our first Literacy Night on May 7th from 6:00 - 8:00. Our very own Creech Road debate team and storytellers will be performing and our chorus will be entertaining everyone with show tunes. Each student will receive a 2 and EOG information for grades 3-5. There is no need to cook that night! Make your reservation immediately for a free dinner (hot dog, chips, cookie and a drink) for your family. In preparation for that night we need volunteers on May 6th and 7th during the day to help set up the book give away. If you can help at any time during those two days, and are a registered volunteer, please contact Mrs. Schmitt at 919-662-2366 or lschmitt@wcpss.net to sign up for a time to help. Thank you for all you do for our students and our school. I feel so fortunate to be a part of this community and the Creech Road Family. Best, Seydric Williams Principal
