Special Issue:
Co-operative Multi-Agent Systems
with Engineering Applications
The current study of multi-agent systems is pervading many scientific disciplines, ranging from physical to biological,
even to economic sciences. Its impact on modern engineering and technology is prominent and will be far-reaching.
Typical co-operative behaviors of multi-agent systems include consensus, flocking, swarming, rendezvous and so
on. Research on co-operative multi-agent systems has become overwhelming today, which not only helps the better
understanding of the mechanisms of natural collective phenomena, but also benefits the applications of networked
cyber-physical systems, such as multi-robots and unmanned autonomous vehicles.
The purpose of this Special Issue is to provide an opportunity for scientists, engineers, and practitioners to present their
latest theoretical and technological achievements in co-operative multi-agent systems. All the submissions are expected
to contain original ideas and novel approaches. Papers presenting newly emerging fields are especially welcome.
Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
n Co-ordinated control of multi-agent systems
nSynchronization and pinning control of
nModeling, identification, and optimization of
complex networks
nDistributed estimation and control for mobile
sensor networks
nDistributed fault diagnosis of mobile sensor networks
nControllability and observability of complex
complex networked systems
networked systems
nApplications of co-ordinated control of complex networked systems
All submissions are subject to the journal’s peer-review procedures. The authors should follow the journal’s Author Guide at
http://digital-library.theiet.org/journals/author-guide when preparing papers for submission to the Special Issue.

Open Access Publishing Now Available
In addition to the traditional subscription-funded model, The IET now offers a gold open access publication option in
IET Control Theory and Applications. This allows authors to disseminate their research to a wider audience.
Please contact us if you require any further information.
What is Open Access Publishing?
Open access publishing enables peer reviewed, accepted journal articles to be made freely available online to anyone with access
to the internet. Open access publishing with the IET is funded through author publication charges. This model differs from the
subscription based publishing model, whereby readers (or more commonly, readers’ institutions) pay for access to journal articles.
For more information, contact us on journals@theiet.org.
Why publish in IET Control Theory and Applications?
Worldwide readership and database coverage - including IET Inspec, SCI, Scopus and EI Compedex allows your research to
be easily accessed
n Online submission and tracking for up-to-date progress of your paper
n Prompt and rigorous peer review provides authors with a quick decision about publication
n Open access option available in all IET journals allows authors to disseminate their research to a wider audience
n IET journals are available online via the IET Digital Library and IEEE Xplore for easy sharing of your research
