Art Contest Guidelines:
 All applicants may submit no more than 1 entry.
 All artwork must be original work.
 There is no submission fee and all media will be accepted.
 All works will be displayed at the Fort Bedford Park on June 27th during RiverFest. This is an
outdoor show subject to weather. A tent will be provided over the display area, but works that
are susceptible to wind and weather damage are discouraged.
 Prizes will include 1st Place ($75), 2nd Place ($50) and 3rd Place ($25) in each division.
 Flat work must be appropriately framed and ready to hang.
 Any 3 dimensional work must include an appropriate base.
 Entries should not exceed 3’D X 4’W X 7’H.
 This is a family friendly venue, so please make sure all entries are appropriate. Entries will be
displayed at the discretion of the curator.
 Drop Off: All works must be dropped off on Wednesday, June 24th from 4 pm to 7 pm to
Locality Gallery (142 E. Pitt Street)—no exceptions.
 Pick Up: All works must be picked up at the Fort Bedford Park on Saturday, June 27th from 6
pm to 8 pm.
 Applicants will be given a receipt at drop off and must present it to pick up their works on
Saturday.
 Artwork will not be offered for sale at the show.
 Your signed waiver (see back) and this application must be submitted at the time of drop off.
 Downtown Bedford, Inc., Locality Gallery and the Bedford Borough are not responsible for lost
or damaged artwork.

RiverFest Artist Waiver Release and Indemnity Agreement
IN CONSIDERATION OF being permitted to voluntarily participate in the RiverFest Art Open, the undersigned, on behalf of myself, my
heirs, executors, administrators and assigns,

hereby:
1. Understands and accepts the invitation to participate voluntarily in the RiverFest Art Open in which Downtown Bedford, Inc. may
select my art submission property, including, without limitation, any art or other items on display (collectively to be known as the
“Art”) for display and competition as part of the RiverFest Art Open . I also understand and accept that if my Art is selected, it will be
submitted and displayed at my own risk.
2. Acknowledges that I agree to abide by all rules and regulations explained in the RiverFest Art Open Entry Form and this Waiver.
3. Acknowledges that my Art may be damaged, lost or stolen during the art exhibition and competition or during the unpacking,
packing or transportation of and I acknowledge and understand the risk involved by allowing such Art to be displayed Downtown
Bedford, Inc.
4.Understands and accepts that Downtown Bedford, Inc., Locality Gallery and the Bedford Borough are not responsible for the
reimbursement or replacement of my Art should it be lost, stolen, damaged, or left beyond the last scheduled pick up time and date.
5. Agrees to defend, indemnify, hold harmless, and release and forever discharge Downtown Bedford, Inc. (DBI), Locality Gallery and
the Bedford Borough, their affiliates, subsidiaries, members, officers, directors, shareholders, employees, representatives and
agents of from all liability, claims, demands, damages, costs, expenses, actions and cause of actions (collectively the “Claims”) in
respect of loss or damage to my Art however caused, arising by reason of my participation in the RiverFest Art Open.
6.Further, I hereby grant full permission to use any photographs, videotapes, or images or any other record of this event for any
purpose whatsoever now and in the future.
7. I hereby represent and warrant that I have read this Waiver Form in its entirety and fully understand its contents.
I agree to indemnify and save and hold harmless Downtown Bedford Incorporated, its Servants, Agents and Assigns, or any
other organization or entity assisting with the Bed Race, from any loss, liability, damage, claims, actions, costs, expenses and
demands with respect to any injury, death, loss or damage to my person or property, with respect to injury, death, loss or damage to
a third party or to his or her property, however caused, arising out of or in connection with my taking part in the Bed Race. This
Agreement shall be binding on me, my heirs, personal representatives, successors and assigns. I acknowledge having read this
document. I have read this Agreement, fully understand its terms, understand that I may give up rights by signing it and have
signed it freely and voluntarily without any inducement, assurance or guarantee being made to me and intend my signature to be
a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowable by law.
