Spring Street Union Grove, Wisconsin 53182 Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove Home Front and Campus Flag News Volunteers and Families April 2015 Recreation Committee Update The Union Grove Home Recreation Committee, Inc. held its monthly meeting on March 4th, 2015. The next Recreation Committee meeting is April 1st, 2015. Discussion was held on the price increase by Gift Bricks for the Honor Wall Tiles. The Committee decided to consult with other vendors for price comparison. The annual Memorial Day Service at the cemetary was discussed; Saturday May 23rd at 8:00am Boy and Girl Scouts are needed for the placing of flags by each grave marker. This year there will be approximately 13,000 flags to place. February, 19th, 2015 Post 375 of Mukwanago A huge undertaking of sewing produced over 300 clothing protectors made from t-shirts that appealed to our Members. This created a clothing protector that is personalized and provides dignity to the Members living at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at Union Grove. Thank you from all our hearts for the hours of dedication and caring that went into this amazing project. Mondays arrive at 2:30pm and Thursdays arrive at 2:30pm. Join us and help with Bingo Tuesdays at 1:30pm Fairchild Hall is looking for volunteers to assist the 1st Monday of each month when the barber comes. Come and play cards, board games, Uno, or Yatzee at our assisted living home Fairchild afternoons and early evenings. Or go for a walk outside in the beautiful weather and enjoy the gardens with a Member. Computer skills needed! Help the Members of Fairchild with email and internet. Join us for our next Family Support Group on Thursday April 16th at 2:00pm. Marilyn Joyce from the ADRC will be our guest speaker this month. Care of a loved one or having a loved one in a nursing home can be very stressful. Join a wonderful group of people in sharing experiences, giving compassion and support through friendship. You can call Linda Rennick at 878- 6788 for more information. You are inspirational to all of us. I notice each day how all of you treat the Members with respect and kindness, no matter what the situation is. Your words and actions go a long way toward helping the Members retain their quality of life and dignity. I would like to personally let you know your work is appreciated and the time you give from your hearts is immeasurable. Thank you for your dedication, compassion, and the love that you give freely.
