Company Background
Electro Diesel’s history can be traced back for almost 53 years. The name Electro Diesel
came into being during 1959 when Mr CC Steyn started a family business in Marikana, the
then rural and agricultural district of Rustenburg.
As the town of Rustenburg grew from rural status to the fastest growing city in the North-West
Province, the business also evolved from a small individually owned enterprise into a duly
registered private company.
Subsequent to Mr Steyn’s retirement from active business participation, the business was
taken over by Mr Jaap Kroon who is currently holding the position of Managing Director.
Thereafter the Steelpoort branch was established in 2006 following a Midas Franchise in 2009
and ACDC Franchise in 2013. In 2014 the Company furthermore expanded their marketing
footprint with Branches in Kathu, (Northern Cape) opening on January 2014 and Welkom
(Free State) & Jetpark (Johannesburg) in September 2014.
Since 2011 Electro Diesel implemented a black employee trust and all previous disadvantage
employees are beneficiaries of this trust.
One of the most integral tools for any big company is a competent and capable service
department. Electro Diesel also boasts a 24 hour standby service team consisting of 27 field
service mobile units. All vehicles are fully equipped and stocked with the necessary spares
and material to resolve any emergency. We provide superior service to contracted as well as
non-contracted clients.
Our ingredients in the supplying of the finest products include: affordable business solutions,
leading industry brands, excellent service, short response times, solid relationships, and
attention to detail.
What further sets us apart is our ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial long-term
business relationships. We like to call this the "Electro Way of Life".
Electro Diesel Rustenburg (Pty) Ltd is dedicated and committed to comply with the
Employment Equity Act, No 55 of 1998 and to develop an Employment Equity Plan, taking
into account the specific circumstances of our company.
