Note: The lecture content shall be supplemented
with tutorial sessions, exercises in MATLAB/
SCILAB/ OCTAVE or similar computational
platforms and Pedagogical experience sharing of
teachers of IITs and other reputed institutes.

About SGGSIE&T, Nanded
S.G.G.S. Institute of Engineering and Technology,
Vishnupuri, Nanded is one of the premier institutes in
the state of Maharashtra. The Institute was established
in 1981, with 100% grant in aid from Govt. of
Maharashtra, with an intake of 60 (30 each in Electronics
and Instrumentation). At present the Institute offers ten
UG programs with annual intake of 610. The Institute
offers eight PG programs an annual intake of 181. It is a
recognised research center of SRTMU. One of the
unique features of the institute is its research oriented
faculty strength. The institute has signed MoUs with
many institutes and industries including UTP Malaysia,
VJTI Mumbai, WCE Sangli, TCS, Cognizant, Oracle,

About Nanded, Location, and Weather
Nanded is located in Maharashtra on the banks of holy
river Godavari. It has uniqueness of its own due to its
historical, social and political importance. The tenth
Guru of Sikhs, Shri Guru Gobind Singhji held his court
and congregation here. This is the place where he
installed “Shri Guru Granth Sahibji” as GURU in 1708.
Nanded is a well-known education center in
Maharashtra. SGGSIE&T is located at Vishnupuri, about
7 km from Nanded railway and bus stations.
The city has hot and humid weather in first two weeks of
July with rain of monsoon season.

Target Participants
The course is intended for the faculty members from
AICTE approved Institutions with more than 5 years of
experience and those pursuing practical research in the
fields of signal and Image processing. Specific areas
include pattern recognition, bio-medical Signal and
image processing, biometrics such as fingerprint, face,
voice recognition etc. The course is also open to PG
students, Ph. D. Research scholars, and UG students and
industrial persons on payment basis.

There is no course fee for the faculty members from AICTE
recognised institutes selected for the course. However, a
refundable Registration Fees of Rs. 1000/- payable in the
form of a DD drawn in favour of Director, SGGSIE&T,
Nanded payable at Nanded. The selected participants (firstcome-first-served) will be paid two and fro rail (max. sleeper
class)/bus fare by shortest route on production of tickets.
The stay arrangements for the selected participants will be
made on twin sharing basis in institute hostels. Selected
participants will have to become at least annual member of
ISTE and pay the requisite fees (if they are not members of
ISTE).
