 IT’S ALL TRUE ANNOUNCES WINNERS * JL’s Passion wins the Brazilian Feature and Medium-­‐Length Competition ** France is Our Mother Country is chosen as the best Feature film of the International Competition *** The Mulberry Mountain Range II and Super Unit are the winners of Best Brazilian and International Shorts Film, respectively The main event dedicated to the culture of documentary in Latin America, It’s All True – 20th International Documentary Film Festival has announced this Saturday evening, April 18th, the winners of this 2015 edition. The international jury was formed by French filmmaker and critic Laetitia Mikles, Chilean documentary filmmaker Cristián Leighton and American curator Thom Powers. The Brazilian jury was formed by filmmaker Carla Gallo, curator Fabiano Canosa and filmmaker and director of photography Lauro Escorel. For the first time in the Festival’s history, the winners of both Brazilian and International Best Short Films are automatically qualified for evaluation by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, on the dispute for a place among the nominees for Best Documentary Short Film at the Oscars. It’s All True is the first and only festival in South America to merit this status.
