Prior to that appointment, he worked for Executive Education in China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) and HEC, Montréal. Li Yan is the lead in many corporate programmes tailor-made for global and Asia-Pacific clients such as Merck, Jaguar Land Rover, Nestlé, Towers Watson, Omnicom, L’Oréal, AB-InBev, Nitto Denko, and more. He holds a Ph.D. in Administration from HEC Montréal, Canada, and Master of Business Administration (Option Finance) from ESG Paris, France. FACULTY PROFILE SRINIVAS K. REDDY Professor of Marketing, Director, Centre for Marketing Excellence, Singapore Management University Prior to joining Singapore Management University, Srini was Executive Director and Group Head, Corporate Strategy and Leadership Development at Maytas Holdings. His academic career includes tenure as Robert O. Arnold Professor of Business and the Director of the Coca-Cola Centre for Marketing Studies, Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia, a member of the faculty of New York University‘s Stern School of Business, Columbia University and the University of California, Los Angeles as well as visiting professor at Stanford Business School. He holds M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in Business Administration from Columbia University. Srini’s expertise is in new product development, marketing and competitive strategy involving new brands and services. RICK SMITH Senior Lecturer of Strategic Management, SMU Rick is a Senior Lecturer of Strategic Management at Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. He is also the Line of Business Director at the Executive Education and Development department. Rick has been the Global Managing Director, Talent and Organization Consulting at Accenture. He has received the Best Teaching Award on multiple occasions, Singapore Management University MBA Program and is an Advisory Board Member for the Global Leadership Center at the Villanova University Business School. Rick Has been an invited Conference Speaker and Moderator, 2010 Singapore Human Capital Summit and was the Keynote Speaker at the HR Forum in Manila, Philippines last year. Rick has also been an invited Conference Speaker at the International Human Resources Conference, Hong Kong in 2005 and 2007. TAN HWEE HOON TANVI GAUTAM Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources Lee Kong Chian School of Business, SMU Adjunct Faculty of Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources, SMU Programme Director, SMU-ExD Tan Hwee Hoon is actively involved in Executive Teaching, both in English and Chinese and has trained for major organizations such as the International SOS, Monetary Authority of Singapore, Singapore Health Services, SingTel, SIA, Kerry Oils, Alcatel Asia Pacific etc. She also consults for organizations such as the Singapore Tourism Board, IE Singapore and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation. She taught at the School of Business at the National University of Singapore from December 1996 to November 2005 and was Head of Department from 2004 to 2005. Hwee Hoon has been with the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University since December 2005. Hwee Hoon earned her PhD in Management from the Krannert School, Purdue University in December 1996. Hwee Hoon’s research interests are in the areas of interpersonal trust, cross cultural awareness and emotional management at the workplace. Dr Tanvi Gautam, Programme Director for SMU-Executive Development’s Women and Leadership Programme, is also a faculty at the SMU Business School where she teaches courses in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management. She is the Founder of Leadershift Inc., and is an international speaker, facilitator and consultant. Dr Gautam is the recipient of the Game Changer 2014 award by Workforce Magazine (USA) and the Change Leaders of Tomorrow award by the Asian Thought Leadership conference. Dr Gautam is recognised as a force to be reckoned with by the Business Manager magazine and her views on creating the workplace of tomorrow have been quoted and published by international forums such as Lean in, Harvard Business Review, Forbes.com, The Business Times and The Economic Times. Dr Gautam also serves on the board of ARTDO International. ROY CHUA MICHAEL NETZLEY JOCHEN REB Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources, SMU Academic Director, SMU-ExD Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources Area Coordinator, Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources, SMU Roy Chua is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources at the Singapore Management University (SMU) – Lee Kong Chian School of Business. Prior to joining SMU, Roy was on the faculty of Harvard Business School for six years where he taught the core Leadership and Organizational Behavior (LEAD) course in the MBA program as well as the executive education program on talent management. Roy’s research draws on human psychology to understand important social processes in business organizations. In his primary stream of research, he studies how multicultural interactions in a globalized workplace influence creativity and innovation. Roy also has a keen interest in understanding Chinese organizational behavior and management processes. He is an active management scholar and has published in leading academic periodicals such as the Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of International Business Studies, and MIT Sloan Management Review. Michael moved to Singapore in 2002 to help build the nation’s third university, the Singapore Management University. Over the past decade he has developed courses and executive programmes on digital media, corporate reputation, leadership communication and strategy. In 2010 and 2011 Michael was named a Research Fellow to the Society for New Communication Research. The following year he was awarded the prestigious Champion’s Award from the Central and Eastern European Management Association (CEEMAN) for innovative course design and delivery. Jochen Reb is an Associate Professor of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. His previous appointments were as Senior Lecturer, Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge, and Assistant Professor, Singapore Management University. Upon completing his studies in management at Technical University Berlin, Germany, he moved to the University of Arizona, Tucson, USA, where he completed his PhD in Management in 2005. The classroom has played a central role in Michael’s twenty-two- year educational career. He completed Harvard Business School’s Programme on Case Method and Participant---Centered Learning and served as the founding director of SMU’s faculty teaching excellence initiative. Michael has also penned numerous case studies and books discussing workplace communication. At the executive level he currently serves as the Faculty Programme Director of the Wharton-SMU Business and Industry Insights for IBM and previously, the SMU-Wharton Strategic Leadership and Change Management Programme. His research focuses on three main areas: judgment and decision making in organizations, the interpretation of dynamic performance, and the role of mindfulness in organizational contexts such as leadership and performance. His work has been published in leading academic journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Organisational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, and Personnel Psychology, among others, and has been cited more than 500 times (Google Scholar). DONALD FERRIN LES BUCKLEY KEVIN ASBJÖRNSON Professor of Organisational Behaviour & Human Resources, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, SMU Affiliated Faculty of Strategic Management, SMU Inspirational Speaker Don Ferrin is Professor of Organisational Behaviour at the Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University. Don received his Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota (Carlson School of Management) in 2000. Prior to joining academia, Don worked seven years as Senior Consultant with Deloitte Haskins + Sells Los Angeles, and Audit and Technical Manager with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu Hong Kong. Dr. Les Buckley was most recently Regional Managing Director – SE Asia/Oceania for Asia Pacific Breweries Limited, now part of multinational brewer Heineken’s worldwide network. He is currently advisor to SIIA, and runs his own consultancy company in addition to being an active investor in several US, UK and Singapore start-ups. Don’s research focuses primarily on trust in the workplace, including the development of trust, the impact of trust on leader and negotiator effectiveness, trust repair strategies, trust networks within organizations, and the effects of culture on interpersonal trust. Born in UK and educated in NZ, UK, and USA, Les holds a Ph.D. in History from Columbia University, and has more than thirty years experience in the areas of commercial, operations, supply chain and sales and marketing globally and in Asia. Les has also been involved in a range of extracurricular appointments and has been a council member and Advisor to local think tank, Singapore Institute of International Affairs since 2012. Kevin D. Asbjörnson, MIM is a professional educator, international performing artist, inspirational speaker, panelist and author in the areas of global leadership; global mindset, creativity & innovation in the workplace, cultural competency, emotional-social intelligence (ESI) and performing arts-based learning techniques. He is a Master Facilitator, Leadership Consultant & Certified Coach who designs, facilitates and coaches within customized learning & development programs and workshops to enhance leadership, performance and productivity of individuals, work-groups, and teams. He is a certified in a variety of individual, team and organizational surveys, instruments and assessments including Hogan Assessments and he is a member of the Hogan Coaching Network (HCN).
