“To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder,
a witness of Christ's sufferings and one who also will
share in the glory to be revealed: Be shepherds of
God's flock that is under your care, serving as
overseers--not because you must, but because you
are willing, as God wants you to be; not greedy for
money, but eager to serve; not lording it over those
entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock.”
1 Peter 5:1-3 (NIV)

The GOSPEL… the GOOD NEWS is that Jesus Christ died for
our sins and was raised from the dead according to the
Scriptures. As the reigning Lord He now offers the
forgiveness of sins and the liberating gift of the Holy Spirit
and the gift of eternal life to all who repent and believe.
To respond to the Good News,
you must from your heart…
1. Acknowledge that you need Christ.
“Lord, I have been living my life for myself. Sin has been
keeping me from a living, vital relationship with God. I have
no hope of heaven or of ever knowing you if I continue to rely
on myself, or anyone or anything else other than Jesus.”
10:00 a.m. – Coffee Fellowship in Fellowship Hall
10:30 a.m. – Worship (past sermons are available on the website)

LATER TODAY…
2. Ask Christ to forgive you of your sins.
“Lord, I admit that I am living a life that is not free from sin. Sin
impacts my attitude, my thoughts, my words, my actions, and
my relationships, I can’t clean up my sin on my own. I need
you to forgive my sin and make me right with God, and I ask
you to do this for me.”
3. Accept (receive) Jesus Christ as your Savior.
“Jesus, you came to save people from their sin by dying on
the cross and by shedding your blood to give the gift of
eternal life to all who put their trust in you by faith. I do that
right now, placing my trust in you and you alone to save me
and to prepare a place for me in heaven.”
7:00-8:00 p.m. – Evening prayer time at Che and Sarah Mislang’s
apartment (#112, 113 Highbrook Road, Bar Harbor) (559-776-6200)
4. Announce that Jesus is Lord.

Matthew 28:19-20
There were two men shipwrecked on this island. The minute they
got on to the island one of them started screaming and yelling,
"We're going to die! We're going to die! There's no food! No water!
We're going to die!"
The second man was propped up against a palm tree and acting
so calmly that it drove the first man crazy. "Don't you understand?!?
We're going to die!!"
The second man replied, "You don't understand. I make $100,000 a
week."
The first man looked at him quite dumbfounded and asked, "What
difference does that make?!? We're on an island with no food and no
water! We're going to DIE!!!"
The second man answered, "You just don't get it. I make $100,000 a
week and I tithe ten percent on that $100,000 per week. My pastor
will find me!"
