April 9th LUNCH BUNCH The “Lunch Bunch” meets on the nd 2 Wednesday of each month at 12:30 PM to explore different restaurants in our area. This month lunch will be: April 8th CROWS NEST Call ahead if you’d like to arrange for a ride or car pool. There will be a free drawing each month – which means you may get your lunch for free! MEDICAL FORUM The forum is held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 11:00 AM and provides current health information to seniors at the Geneva Community Center Hall. A free light lunch will be served. This month, the topic and presenter will be: April 15th “What Color Is Your Food – Healthy Crock Pot Cooking” Lori Ann Slimmer, M.Ed., RN University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center Must call for reservation! Call Lori at 998-0680. If you arrive before the doors open, you’re welcome to join us for coffee and donuts in the Senior Center’s Recreation Room. Phone: 440-466-3048 GENEVA SENIOR CENTER ACTIVITIES: “OFF OUR ROCKERS” BAND Mondays (Rehearsals), 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Satellite Center. We’re a musical group that brings laughter to community events and area nursing homes. Talk with Barb Taft or Eloise Lowrie if you’d like to join. CORNHOLE Mondays, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. in the Kirchner Room. Increase your hand-eye coordination and have fun cheering on your team (and your opponents). BINGO Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Kirchner Room. Tuesday is Progressive Bingo with an admission of 25 cents. BILLARDS Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Satellite Center. Enjoy good-natured competition (no betting allowed). Chalk up your cue stick (provided) and have fun! Don’t know how to play pool? We’ll teach you. PACE EXERCISE GROUP Tuesdays and Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in the Hall. Low-impact exercising. Your instructor is Ruth Bogue. April 2015 WALKABOUT Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Join us and walk at your own pace. During the winter we are at the Spire Institute. Summer and nice days are spent on the paths of the Geneva Lodge. SEWING GROUP The 1 & 4th Wednesdays, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Satellite Center. Learn everything from threading a needle to making you own clothes. Your instructor is Mary Kitis. st PINOCHLE Wednesdays, 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. in the Recreation Rm. (And most other days and times.) The Pinochle Tournament is on the first Wednesday of the month. CRAFTS Fridays, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Satellite Center. Learn how to create and develop new and exciting craft items. CANASTA Fridays, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Center. SUMMER ACTIVITIES Bocce, Miniature Golf, Horseshoes, and Croquette. Check Calendar for time and places. OTHER ACTIVITIES Checkers, chess, Scrabble, computer games, WII bowling, puzzles, & parties. If it’s within the Geneva Area School District and during our working hours (M – F, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), we’ll do our best to get you there at no cost to you. Please give us a twoday notice, but if something comes up unexpectedly, call us and we’ll try to accommodate. Our vans are wheelchair accessible. 466-3048 ext. 2. To see if you qualify or to schedule an appointment call: 466-3048 ext. 3 or 466-7405 Our appointment hours are: M – W, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. MEDICAL ASSESSMENT We provide free blood pressure checks and blood sugar testing in the Community Center foyer on the following days and times: April 2015 FORMS HEAP, Buckeye Card, Living Wills, Medical Power of Attorney, Voter Registration, Absentee Ballot, Safe Link phones, Extra Help. COPY AND FAX This is free service for a few items. If you have many, we ask for a small donation to help cover our costs. Time is from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. See Joan for the registration form and to order you choice for lunch. Deadline is April 27th. The theme is safety in the home. We will be providing free transportation.
