GRADUATE ASSISTANTSHIP OPENING
Graduate School Hiring GA for Writing/Editing Work
The Graduate School Office is seeking a graduate
assistant for the 2015-16 academic year to write and edit
electronic and print materials. Full-time graduate students
proficient in Microsoft Office and willing to work within UC
and Graduate School style guides are welcome to apply.
Preference will be given to students with strong writing samples.
NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Safe Zone Training
GSGA is teaming up with the LGBTQ Center to hold a Safe Zone training session
for graduate students on Wednesday March 25 at 12:30 p.m. in Zimmer 305.
After the training, you will receive certification that you are Safe Zone trained.
Pizza will be provided! To RSVP or ask questions, contact Daniel Traicoff at

$mart $tart Workshop
The $mart $tart workshop, sponsored by the UC Women’s Center and the
Graduate School, teaches students the skills to negotiate salary and benefits for
the job they want after graduation. This workshop will be held March 26, 4-6 p.m.,
in Teachers College Building, room 407 (Annie Laws conference room).

Life of the Mind: Technology and Innovation in Medicine
Life of the Mind, a lecture series featuring interdisciplinary conversations with UC
faculty, will return March 26, 4-5:30 p.m. in TUC 400ABC with a lecture by Jeffrey
Whitsett, MD, professor of pediatrics in the College of Medicine. UC President
Santa J. Ono will moderate the discussion on the theme of technology and
innovation in medicine. Life of the Mind is free and open to the public. If you

GSGA Day of Service
The GSGA Day of Service is a day to engage UC graduate students in our local
community. Please mark your calendars and save the date to volunteer and
serve our community on Saturday, March 28, 2015. Service site options will be
