JESUS IS THE GOOD SHEPHERD
April 24, 2015 Fourth Sunday of Easter John 10: 11-18 JESUS IS THE GOOD SHEPHERD 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. The hired hand is not the shepherd and does not own the sheep. So when he sees the wolf coming, he abandons the sheep and runs away. Then the wolf attacks the flock and scatters it. 13 The man runs away because he is a hired hand and cares nothing for the sheep. 14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep. 16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd. 17 The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. 18 No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.” 12 Page 1 of 9 April 24, 2015 Fourth Sunday of Easter John 10: 11-18 Remember in Prayer In need of comfort, ill, or recovering from surgery: Charla Dunham & Family Bill Jewell Bob & Kathy LaCour Kitty Smith Ava (Carol Pape’s great-granddaughter Diane Walters’ Niece Karen Callies John Wuerpel David Flynn Bill Craig Jeff Conradi Harold Tviet Bob Pease Pat Perry Prayer requests will be added to the prayer list for a four week period. Under the direction of the Congregational Care Committee a new visitation ministry has been formed to meet the increased visitation needs of Immanuel. There are multiple ways that you can be involved. If you desire to have a personal contact for any need, or know of someone else who does, we want you to reach out to Pastor Paul. All communication is strictly confidential. Upon receiving your request a visitation team member will respond to you promptly to arrange a time to meet. That visit can include prayer, listening, caring, and follow-up. We will share God’s love with you in a manner that will meet your needs. The second way you can help is to ask to be a visitation team visitor. Pastor Paul will work with you to share helpful approaches that complement your style of comforting. We ask that you bring this important ministry to God in prayer. When people observed the fellowship in the early church they said; “behold how they love one another.” This is our goal at Immanuel; to be a community overflowing with the compassion of Christ. In His service, Pastor Paul and the Congregational Care Committee Page 6 of 9 April 24, 2015 Fourth Sunday of Easter Page 7 of 9 John 10: 11-18 April 24, 2015 Fourth Sunday of Easter April Birthdays John 10: 11-18 Wedding Anniversaries Tom Alderson.................... 2 Jamey Leigh-Romero ........ 3 Jeff Pape ........................... 4 Pat Kullberg ...................... 5 Jim & Colleen Albrecht………………… 13 Jennifer Polley .................. 5 Ferrell & Nancy Ely……….……………. 16 Bill Zimmerman ................. 13 Darrin Canfield .................. 13 Paula Marth ...................... 17 David Phillips .................... 19 Andrew Trana ................... 19 Lionel Christopherson ....... 20 Barbara Peterson .............. 20 Bruce Craig ....................... 21 Sue Hermansen ................ 24 Arnie Guenther.................. 24 Ken Kruger ........................ 25 Kiave Smith ....................... 25 Christine Vanderberg……. 28 Gloria Jensen……............. 29 Gail DenBeste ................... 29 Please remember to notify the church of any changes, additions, deletions, or corrections in your family records, we'd hate to miss a chance to wish you a happy birthday or anniversary!
