Volunteer Opportunities
We offer a variety of rewarding volunteer opportunities to
match your interests, abilities and hours of availability.
Some opportunities include:
Volunteering at Baton Rouge General
Volunteers at the General are committed to
supporting patients and families through
compassionate service and support. From
offering a warm smile and cheerful “hello”
to visitors, to helping someone find the perfect
gift for a loved one, to rocking a newborn baby
in our NICU, our volunteers are dedicated to
service excellence.
Benefits of Volunteering
Baton Rouge General appreciates and values our volunteers
and recognizes them throughout the year in a variety of
ways. There are several benefits of volunteering at the
General, including:

• Cafeteria and gift shop discounts
• Quarterly newsletter

holiday social & day trips)
• Free lunch and learn sessions

Volunteer Requirements
We ask our volunteers to commit to one 4-hour shift

accommodate our volunteers, we offer different time slots
for your convenience.
Once you have completed your application and spoken
to a volunteer coordinator, you will be required to attend
an orientation session, complete a TB skin screening and
pay a $15 annual fee. The annual fee also provides you
with a one-year membership to the Baton Rouge General
Volunteer Auxiliary and exclusive discounts to the gift shop.
