2015 & Diversity Education Team are student
The Center for Inclusion & Cross Cultural Engagement’s
volunteers who are dedicated to promoting diversity, multiculturalism, and social justice. This group will
function as a proactive educational advocacy group that promotes diversity and acceptance at The University of
Mississippi. The Inclusion & Diversity Education Team will help develop and present educational workshops to
promote the awareness, acceptance and necessity for diversity to fellow students.
The Inclusion & Diversity Education Team will serve as a valuable resource for students, faculty, staff, and
campus organizations.
Program Goals & Objectives
The Inclusion and Diversity Education Team will facilitate educational programs on diversity, multiculturalism,
and other special topics for interested organizations, offices, and academic classes. The primary goal is to
increase awareness of diversity related concerns while creating a dialogue that explores the campus definition
and understanding of diversity.
We commit to help our students gain insights, value diversity, and take actions by:
 Creating a cultural surrounding where diversity is a driving force.
 Increasing appreciation of differences and similarities.
 Limiting the influence of stereotypes.
 Transforming knowledge into acceptance and empathy.
 Understanding the impact of their behaviors on others.
What does it take to become a CICCE Inclusion and Diversity Education Team Member?











Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher and be in good disciplinary standing.
Attend required team meetings and training sessions.
Have strong oral and written communications skills.
Exhibit a commitment to diversity.
Display a willingness to learn more about topics and issues of diversity.
Serve as a role model to all students and the University community.
Possess high sensitivity to global cultural issues and concerns.
Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Facilitate diversity education workshops and activities for University of Mississippi students.
Be highly-motivated, patient, enthusiastic, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
Be knowledgeable of and familiar with the University of Mississippi’s and Center for Inclusion’s mission
and goals.

Your completed packet should include:
1. Completed Application Form including Essay Questions
2. One Completed Recommendation Form by a University of Mississippi Faculty Member or Staff
Member (i.e. Supervisor, Student Organization Advisor, etc.)
4. Current resume listing your extracurricular activities, community service, and offices held at the
University. Include length of involvement and leadership roles for each activity.
