 New editorial processes have been instituted for the JBISRIR following the advice of the editorial
board of the journal. All manuscripts undergo an editorial review at the time of submission to
determine if manuscripts adhere to submission guidelines and to provide immediate feedback, at the
same time, on outstanding issues with the question and PICO, if necessary. The immediate effect of
these new processes has been to slow the number and increase the quality of manuscripts that are
sent to peer reviewers, and ease the pressures on copyediting.
 Indexing update
o Some of 2012, all of 2013 – 2015 in Embase, only partially in Scopus. Issues have
been communicated to Elsevier.
o Current content appears in EBSCO CINAHL
o Accepted for indexing in Medline. Currently preparing for first trial submissions of
meta-data and content.
o Journal has been submitted to the WoS. Awaiting result.
