Empowered Excellence THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF KING Student position starting May 4, 2015 Administrative Assistant – Clerk’s 35 hours weekly – May to August 2015 Responsibilities will include: Various administrative duties in the Clerks Department including: data entry, re-organization and updating of internal files and processes, special projects, photocopying and covering main reception and the following: Providing relief to sorting mail. Providing relief to photocopying and general administrative tasks as assigned. Assisting in the preparation of weekly Town newspaper page and website. Assisting with administrative/coordination tasks associated with the review of records. Assisting with administrative tasks associated with the preparation of public notices required by the Planning Act and other statutes. Assisting with special projects and conducting research. Assisting with graphic design, spreadsheet and document layout assignments. Performing other duties as assigned. Qualifications: One year completed of College, University in Public Administration or relevant study. Customer service skills and office administration experience, preferably in a front-line capacity. Working knowledge of standard office computer software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and Adobe. Team-oriented, positive attitude. Ability to balance various tasks, often under pressure. Computer graphic design skills an asset. Interest in learning new software and in being exposed to a busy, customer-oriented working environment.
