A Barista is a person who has the passion for the skill of making coffee. A barista would work in the
hospitality industry and this could mean long hours and shift work. Areas of employment could
include: coffee shops, restaurants and function venues, corporate office spaces, mobile coffee vans.

Entry requirements: Grade 10 and a desire to work in the hospitality industry (including long hours and
possible shift work).

Developing life skills is an integral aspect of Learn to Earn’s mission to develop people holistically. All
students registered for any training at LtE will receive life skills training.

Learn to Earn is a skills development not for profit organisation with campuses in
Khayelitsha and Mount Pleasant Hermanus. Training courses are between 3 weeks and 9
months long and relevant to the community in which they are based.
