Founded in Frankfurt in 1971, Automechanika has now been held in a growing
number of global locations since 1997. Current dates and further information
on all 15 events can be found at automechanika.com
Dear exhibitors, visitors, business partners and colleagues,
the automotive industry is changing. Sustainability, urbanisation, connectivity
and digitalisation call for new technologies that the industry is not always able
to deliver on its own. Suppliers, OEMs and the automotive aftermarket are
therefore growing in importance, while the replacement parts and equipment
market is also becoming increasingly globalised.
With 15 events in 14 countries, Automechanika is the world’s leading trade fair
for the automotive industry. It includes highly international shows in Frankfurt,
Dubai and Istanbul, as well as events with a more regional focus, such as
Automechanika St. Petersburg. New additions include Chicago, Jeddah and
Birmingham. And the Automechanika family will continue to grow. In order
to identify new event locations and support our partners’ and customers’
market entry, Messe Frankfurt carries out exhibitor surveys on an annual basis.
Expertly managed organisation and extensive marketing and PR campaigns
in close liaison with our partners and customers guarantee the consistently
high quality of our events. Every single Automechanika trade fair is a driver
of innovation, a trend barometer and intercultural meeting place for the
global automotive technology and design community.
Automechanika and its events around the world now stand for some
16,000 exhibitors and 600,000 visitors, as well as 45 years of experience.
A proud achievement for which I would like to thank our partners, event
managers, industry associations, colleagues and all our customers in
production, sales and service. Your dedication and loyalty have made the
Automechanika brand an international success story. I do hope you will
get connected with us and the automotive future.

Opening doors to
important growth
markets
Chicago is an ideal location for the venture because it is
centrally located in the U.S. and easily accessible for drive-in attendees
and air travel. We look forward to Automechanika Chicago – a new
high-calibre event with emphasis on education and innovation.
Rahm Emanuel
Mayor of Chicago
Welcome to the USA, the UK and to Saudi Arabia
NEW
In 2015, we are staging the first ever Automechanika in Chicago.
Exhibitors include leading names such as BMW, Dupont,
Schaeffler Group USA Inc, Bosch Automotive Service Solutions,
Sonax, Menzerna, NGK Spark Plugs and many more. Which is
not surprising: after all, the USA represents one of the largest
automotive markets in the world!
The US automotive industry is currently estimated at $300
billion per year. The aftermarket is showing an annual growth
rate of 3.4 per cent, with 162,500 garages and workshops
offering repairs and services. For global suppliers and spares
manufacturers, Chicago is an ideal platform to meet and
forge new partnerships with wholesalers, distributors and
importers.
Automechanika Chicago is easy to reach from anywhere in
the world and offers a perfect stepping stone for businesses
looking to enter the US market or consolidate existing
relationships.

A further new departure is Automechanika Birmingham,
which is due to be launched in 2016. This is the first
Messe Frankfurt event to be held in the United Kingdom
and is organised under licence by Forest Exhibitions Ltd.
Plus, with the SMMT (Society of Motor Manufacturers
and Traders), we have a strong partner to support the
event. Around 250 exhibitors and approximately 5,000
trade visitors are expected, primarily from Great Britain
and Northern Ireland.
The focus of Automechanika Birmingham is on the
automotive supply sector and all aspects of aftermarket
business. The market for vehicle components in the
United Kingdom is very strong and, according to recent
forecasts, will continue to grow over the coming five
years. This means there is an urgent need for a specialist
trade fair for the automotive sector.

automechanika-birmingham.com
The first Automechanika in Jeddah in 2016 will welcome
over 150 exhibitors from more than 20 countries. Alongside
Automechanika Dubai, Messe Frankfurt is establishing
this as our second event in the Middle East to further open
up one of the world’s most lucrative automotive markets.
In 2013 alone, Saudi Arabia imported over one million
vehicles at a total value of $20 billion. With a population
of just under 30 million, 30 per cent are currently planning
to purchase their own vehicle; 7.1 million cars are already
on the road.
Demand in spares is growing accordingly: based on $3.8
billion in 2013 and an annual growth rate of 7.7 per cent,
the 2018 turnover is estimated at $5.5 billion. It is high time
to leverage this market potential. At Automechanika Jeddah,
major buyers and decision-makers will come together to
network and build valuable connections.

unstable fuel prices, the development of alternative drives
is high on the agenda. Automechanika addresses the
topic in its full breadth. In particular, it offers a high-profile
platform for the pioneers of e-mobility. In addition to
alternative fuels and powertrains, topics such as charging
infrastructure, financing, power supply and management,

Messe Frankfurt
against Copying
An initiative that offers protection against
product and brand piracy
In 2006, Messe Frankfurt became the first trade fair organiser
in the world to launch an initiative against product and brand
piracy. “Messe Frankfurt against Copying” is committed to
protecting brands, samples and models during all
Automechanika events.
This initiative aims to ensure that exhibitors and visitors are fully
informed about the registration and assertion of intellectual
property rights. Messe Frankfurt works in close liaison with
official bodies and private organisations in the field of protection
of intellectual property. In urgent cases, it arranges for legal
support on site, and an emergency legal service offers
exhibitors free initial advice during the events.
Thankfully, these days, most products and brands are now more
effectively protected, for instance through the official registration
of property rights. The number of products confiscated by
customs has fallen significantly since the start of the initiative.

We keep on growing
More room for your success –
more space for Automechanika Shanghai
The Shanghai event consistently breaks records in the number
of exhibitors, visitors and exhibition space. This strategic move will allow the
show to continue to grow and help everyone involved in the automotive
industry network, build their brands and generate more business.
Jason Cao
Senior General Manager, Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd
The automotive industry is becoming increasingly globalised
and this trend is set to continue apace. It is now commonplace
for German vehicles to be both manufactured and sold abroad –
China is a good example for this. Which makes it even more
important for the Automechanika brand to be globally represented, bringing together international manufacturers and
major buyers from around the world, as well as creating
a local focus in the world’s major growth markets.
