ANTIGO PRIDE-Be Ready, Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe MIDDLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS! May 20th…The countdown is on…10 more school days!! Reminder Friday there will be an FCA meeting in the IMC during lunch/ER. Students will sign in at the meeting and then get lunch. Friday, May 22nd we will be having a Freeze Pop RRR exchange during lunch! Pride Store closes on Friday, May 29th. Thank you for all who attended the Antigo Middle Leadership Training on Monday, May 18th. You all were wonderful leaders and excellent examples of the 4B’s. Congratulations to the 2015-2016 Antigo Middle School Executive Committee: Brett Farmer, Emma Packard, Quinlan McCarthy, Ellie Preboski, Gracie DeWan, Kelly Cooper, and Holly Zimmerman. Please stop by Ms. Brown’s room this week for more details. Attention all Girls Track members, please stop by Ms. Brown’s room this week to receive your season results books. As we near the end of the school year, be sure to do your best to follow all expectations. Our Universal Matrix explains all expectations in detail. Each of our teachers also has classroom expectations. These expectations are put in place so that all students have the opportunity for excellent education. Every Day the Robin Way!! We have a dress code. Why? To promote self-respect. To create a positive learning environment. 8th graders will be receiving a letter concerning graduation in ER this week. If you plan on leaving after the ceremony there are instructions and expectations on the letter. Please be sure to take it home. Class of 2019 has had excellent on time percentages the entire 4th quarter. The average this quarter is 93.2%. We congratulate all of you for being ON TIME! Keep it up! Attention 8th graders: If you have overdue library materials and fines, they must be returned and paid for in the library ASAP. If you do not pay off library fines, your fine balance carries over to the high school. This also pertains to office fees still outstanding (user fees, lock fees, athletic fees, etc.) Please take care of these fees by the end of the year. Father of the Year Contest…deadline for letters is Friday, June 5th- Information is in the office if interested. Students…Have you ever thought about going to Summer Camp this summer? YMCA Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya has brought us some pamphlets to share with you. So if you are interested in going to camp this summer, please stop by the office and pick up a pamphlet. BOXTOPS for EDUCATION Contest We will be having a BOXTOPS contest from now until May 29th. The ER that collects the most BOXTOPS will receive a basket of goodies. There will be one winning ER per grade. If you’d like, you can use the Collection Sheets located in Room 103 or online at boxtops4education.com. The money raised from BOXTOPS helps fund our PBIS Program and Incentives. THANK YOU SO MUCH for participating in this program. For more information please see Mrs. Dobrinska in Room 103. POP TAB COLLECTIONS……MAY 20-22…PLEASE BRING POP TABS TO YOUR ER’S BETWEEN MAY 20-22. 1st place ER will win a pizza party, 2nd &3rd places will receive candy treats. All proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald House in Marshfield. GIRLS ON FIRE! Annual Camp Trailblazers – Monday, June 22-Friday, June 26, 2015. Hosted by Chippewa Valley Technical College. More info in the office! 12th Annual Nicolet Walk/Run – June 20th – 4.37 mile walk/run around beautiful Maiden Lake. Information available in the office if you are interested. Proceeds go to benefit area volunteer EMS units. Attention: All 4th-8th graders. If you are interested in staying active or just want to have fun with friends sign-up for the Sports Camp summer school course. Throughout the course you will play baseball, softball, golf, tennis, football, frisbee golf, beach volleyball, kickball and much more. This course also includes a day at Riverview Golf Course. Prizes are given out for daily competitions. The course is offered during both the AM and PM sessions. You may sign-up for one or both sessions. NTC is offering CHAMP CAMP (Computers, Health, Ag, Manufacturing, Public Safety) at the Wausau NTC Campus on Wednesday, June 10, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Transportation will be provided from the Antigo Campus for anyone interested. For more information, please stop at the office. Friendly Reminder to Sign Up for Summer School! Registration ends on Friday, May 22nd with the exception of courses held after June 25th, 2015. Registration for courses held after this date will remain open until approximately 2 weeks prior to the course start date .We still have several courses with openings. Based on enrollment counts, some courses may not be offered so please be sure to register your child(ren) as soon as possible! • Registration is online again this year, visit the school district website at www.antigo.k12.wi.us and under the “District” heading you will see Summer School – select that and there will be a link to register. If you created an account last year please be sure to use the same account information instead of creating a new one. May 22 Band Trip (7th and 8th Grade to Six Flags) Depart at 6:00 a.m. and return at 10:00 p.m. May 25 Memorial Day Parade Meet in band room at 8:00 a.m. May 28 Choir Concert 7:00 p.m. Volm Theatre June 3 End of Year Incentive Trips June 4 Eighth Grade Graduation 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Dessert Bar for students and parents to follow! 8th graders will be allowed to go home with parent permission after the ceremony! End of Year Incentive Trips Info Mt. Olympus indoor and outdoor waterpark and activities in the Wisconsin Dells. Lunch (hot dog, chips, and soda). Students will leave at 8:00 a.m. sharp and will return at 7:00 p.m. and will need a ride home from the middle school. Fishing at Post Lake Dam- Students will be going in private staff vehicles and will leave at 8:00 a.m. and return by the end of the school day. Students either signed up for school lunch or can bring their own. Golf at Bass Lake includes golf lesson, lunch, and students will have a chance to golf a few holes (depending on time will depend on how many holes). Students will be going in private staff vehicles. Students will return by the end of the school day. Lake Park and/or Movie Students will be walking to Lake Park and will have different activities to choose from including sidewalk art, tie dying (must bring own shirt), roller blading and skateboarding (bring own equipment), walking trail, kickball, and fishing (must bring equipment). This activity is free if the student stays all day and does not go to the movie. Students that wish to go to a movie at the Palace Theater in the afternoon may do so for a cost of $6.00 which includes a small popcorn and drink. Movie is yet to be determined. Students will be walking from Lake Park to the movie. Students will have a choice of bringing their own lunch or having a school lunch provided. A small amount of concessions for a minimal fee will be provided in the afternoon at Lake Park for students that are not going to the movie. This is a school day and students are expected to be in school this day. Any questions please call the middle school. The last day of before and after-school program will be Friday, May 22nd. Thank you for being a part of the program! Last Thursday, the AMS girls Track team took first place out of 6 teams to win the Mosinee Banana Relay Track Meet! Antigo Boys Track team took 2nd!! It was a great night for track. Great job!
