Arranging the test The off campus exams are arranged ONLY through the Testing Center at University College http://www.mtsu.edu/universitycollege/distance/testing.php Here are the conditions and the application for a proctored, off campus test http://www.mtsu.edu/universitycollege/distance/testing_offcampus.php You must arrange for the proctor and site and you must notify the Testing Center at least two weeks in advance of the testing date. The exam can be taken between April 1 and April 18, 2015. The exam must be postmarked no later than April 19, 2015. Arriving at the test site The proctor will give you the exam questions. The exam is sent from the MTSU Testing Center via email to the proctor. The exam is written into bluebooks (of any size) that you bring. The exam consists of 2-3 questions. Each question is answered in its own bluebook. You must bring the return envelope and the bluebooks. (If you send me your snail mail address pronto, I will mail 3 bluebooks to you) Bluebooks are used at all colleges for exams so you should be able to find them at a local community college bookstore. Bring 3 UNMARKED bluebooks to the exam (any size is okay). Give those to the proctor. The proctor will examine them to make sure the bluebooks have no marks on them and return those to you. Page 2 of 3 The proctor will place these items into the envelope The bluebooks The exam paper The verification from MTSU’s testing center Professor Boudreau-Henry MUST GET ALL OF THE MATERIALS BACK IN ORDER TO GRADE THE EXAM. You will have 3 hours to write the exam. Returning the exam bluebooks to Professor Boudreau-Henry You must supply an envelope that is addressed (see below) and has sufficient postage. Recommended envelope: a sturdy cardboard mailing envelope 8x11 or larger. The paper manila envelopes are not sturdy enough and we have had one case of the bluebooks falling out of the envelope during the mailing process. Professor Boudreau-Henry received the envelope, but no bluebooks! Luckily, the Nashville post office did find the bluebooks. Before you give the envelope to the proctor.... 1. Put this address on the envelope for the mailing to address Kathryn E. Boudreau-Henry, Professor Middle Tennessee State University Womack Family Dept. of Educational Leadership, COE 1500 Greenland Dr. #91 Murfreesboro, Tn 37132 2. Include $5.00 worth of postage on the envelope 3. Put this address on the envelope for the return address K Boudreau-Henry 1722 Cason Trail Murfreesboro, TN 37128 Practice writing one-hour essays in sample bluebooks. If you can fill about ½ the book in one hour, you have enough content. Whether it is meaningful content depends upon the depth, number of ideas, use of the sources, and writing style. Be critical of your writing! Shallow platitudes with no support is not passing. Page 3 of 3
